    Default .3000.43c

What might this mean? This is the handwritten note in the upper-right corner of the 3x5 card with the Olmec head. .3000.43c where the 'c' may be an 'i'.

Is this part of a Dewey decimal or Library of Congress call number? If so, it may be an imporant book reference clue.

Perhaps this goes together with the "to" letters also handritten in red ink in the lower right corner of on of the page snippets.

I thought that the "to" was part of the "whom tolls?". But it could have more than one meaning.

I don't think that the Dewey Decimal classification system goes beyond 999.

What if .3000.43c refers to some kind of labeling system for archaeological finds?

The top of the (manga) scroll on the right page just to the left of the knife handle has a partially covered note reading "... find collection label!"

Maybe "find collection label!" is a clue to lookup .3000.43c somewhere? Or, maybe it is a reference to the 3x5 card on which it is printed?

That is just a coincidence. The domain is 43c.com. They map any URL at that address to their default webserver. Try rusty.43c.com. Works just as well.

A good idea about the classification for archeological finds, etc. Kind of like the Accession number, maybe?

I noticed the Gris-Gris scroll has a similar number on the cover page. It reads "Cat. # 5000.1".

Maybe .3000.43c is supposed to be a collection label within the Ambrose Estate collection? Could be just background art and not really a clue.

This seems to come up with every scroll, and each and evey time I'm tempted to let some folks dangled in the wind on it

But, once again, let me state that all the clues to the scroll are on the INSIDE of the scroll, none on the cover or back cover.

    Sorry guys

    Jason
