The Evan versions should be in mailboxes soon, but here are some of the things you typed above and what they are on the Evan scroll:

One assumes maize would have been the reason for the summer sacrifices that involved Itzli

these images seem very well-informed for having come centuries after the fact.

panthera onca: an allegory or real transformation?

You have to wonder if the handwritten notes contain clues when many of the notes are different in the different scroll versions. Personally, I am only interested in the notes that appear on both scrolls.

The .3000.43c note is conspicuously identical on both scrolls.

Although, you could also use correlations of dissimilar textual clues to come up with meanings as well. They did say the same clues were presented in both scrolls, but they did not say they were necessarily presented in the same manner. Obviously if the same exact clue is presented on both scrolls, then you should pay attention to those, but there could be more subtle clues preseneted slightly differently on each scroll.

This is the first scroll to have two versions, with things presented slightly differently. My personal opinion is Xi seems a bit harder to get down to brass tacks and figure out what means something and what is just text filler, but correlating the two scrolls together definitely gives one an advantage to just using one scroll by itself.
