    Default The "Evan" Scroll....again....

On September 7th, Jason posted that ScrollQuest was "shipping the Evan Scroll". It is now October 12th. I still have not received my scroll. You guys really need to get it together. A lot of people are totally disappointed in ScrollQuest. Myself included. Please, no more excuses. Just ship the thing!

Has anyone received the Evan scroll yet?

I'll be the first to acknowledge that things with Scrollquest haven't always been as we'd hoped, but in this case, Jason was doing exactly what he should've been doing - taking care of his pregnant wife and standing beside her during delivery. As I understand it there were some pretty bad complications to deal with, so lighten up, Gen. Life happens, thank God.

I think Genetic Blend comes across as light. She isn't personally addressing anyone, but is wondering where her order is.
"Whether we choose to tackle the puzzles or each other is the issue. If people are upset with the folks who have sponsored a hunt, then let them have their say. It's because of their voice that Tweleve is thriving as it is." Spidey isn't this your quote?
Why do we need to be informed of complications in the delivery room? Isn't that personal? The issue seems to be the promises made and not kept. Not the fact that Genetic Blend is trying to get this resolved.

    Spiderman,

Like I said above, it was posted on SEPTEMBER 7TH that the scrolls were being sent. It was not until September 27th that Evan posted the the "scrolls were finally in, so that is no issue", and that "the prizes will concurrently be mailed" and that the "official solves will be posted", and that they (SQ) have "neglected our duty and we are done with that". To be totally honest, I am sick of the excuses and I am sick of you SQ cheerleaders. What happened between September 7th and the 27th? The answer is NOTHING.

I could accept the excuses if SQ would just come out and say something like "we have had an emergency" or such, and "the scrolls and prizes will be delayed". (What I mean is, I could accept it if they told the truth.) But that is not the case. SQ keeps making more and more promises to people, and they do not follow through.

Everything that SQ says that they are going to do is the opposite of what really transpires. The scrolls are still an issue, they have not been sent. The prizes have not been concurrently mailed, and the official solve has not been posted.

    con-cur-rent
    a. meeting or intersecting in a point
    b. running parallel
    c. acting in conjunction
    d. exercised over the same matter or area by two different authorities

I am guessing that what Evan meant by "the prizes were concurrently being mailed" was that at the same time as he was providing more excuses for SQ, (on September 27th) that the prizes were in fact being mailed.

I can have empathy for a family emergency, or some health problem, or even minor problems for that matter. But I can not show empathy when I am told untruths.

And I know that I am not the only person here who is annoyed with SQ. There are many others. I know this from PMs and from emails that I have received from other Tweleve members.

I think that if "The Secrets of the Alchemist Dar" was not in full swing, then many more people would be complaining right along with me. In fact, Dar may very well be the death of SQ.

In the beginning, I was all gung-ho about these scrolls. When I noticed problems arising, I hoped that SQ would put an abrupt end to the complaints. I liked the scrolls and I wanted them to continue. But the problems persisted. That is just not good business. The problems are still persisting. And it isn't just one problem, it is a number of problems: prizes have not been awarded, books have not been delivered, scrolls have not been sent, refunds were not given, deadlines are not met. And most of these problems have not been resolved. At this point, even if all of the problems would be completely cleared up by tomorrow, I don't know if I would ever buy another scroll from this company again.

Yep, La, I said all that. And Gen, I completely agree with you. Absolutely, 100%, book-em-Danno on your side. You really don't have to outline your case for us. We know: Scrollquest does not always deliver. So boycott them if you feel the need; do not participate. The worst you could do to them is to stop hyping the product. As they say, any publicity is great.

All that said, I still think Jason should be cut some slack this month. Medical emergencies suck the life out of you in more than one way. Of this I'm certain.

    Cheers.

    Default Better System

I think everyone understands how life interferes and emergencies come up, but I have to agree with GB on this one. Not so much that Jason should drop everything he's doing, especially when that "something" is his family. But, there should be a better system in place to handle such unexpected circumstances. I mean, when you're dealing with a game that potentially is worth hundreds of thousands of dollars, you should have other employees at SQ that can take the reins. It seems that everyone is depending on Jason and Evan when there really should be more people at SQ involved to make sure this thing is done right.

Absolutely!!!! I am fairly new to Tweleve and S.Q. . My experience so far has been wonderful on Tweleve's side, but extremely frustrating on S.Q.'s side. The Compendium which has had several "coming out" dates still has no definite mailing date.
Complications during delivery can be very taxing indeed, but babies take on average around 9 months to arrive. That should have been enough time to get organized. Another employee should have been hired to handle what Jason is unable to. How will they juggle all of the old unresolved issues with new monthly articles in Fairies and Pirates magazines? They need to realize that they have a good product. They don't need to "sell" it anymore. No more Razzle Dazzle please.
The scrolls have been fun for me and I truly hope that they can get on top of everything still owed to everyone. Gris-gris still holds a fascination for me, even with Dar on the forefront, but it has lost its sparkle.
I hope nothing but the best for Jason's family, and that carries over to his business obligations as well... Lafitte

Well Said GB. I agree with you 100%. As many readers are aware, I too had and still have issues with SQ. I now only come here on occasion. I am working on Dar and when I need a break from that, I switch back to the scrolls. I have to say that the fun has almost been totally sucked out of me on them. I hope that SQ can get back on track as they have an excellent product and an excellent idea. I for one became very frustrated with their slow resolve of my issues. I was also disappointed with how some people on this forum attacked those of us who had problems. It seems that some people were blind to the problems and continued to sing praises for SQ when in fact there were several of us having problems. I of course wish Jason and his family well, but as with any business you have to leave the personal stuff at the door. Granted there are things that do happen that can put a wrinkle in the works, but there should have been a back up for any and all problems that may arise.
