    Default Waxing and Waning Moon

Has anyone noticed that Chaper 5 ends with a waxing moon and Chapter 11 ends with a waning moon. This means that Chapers, 6,7,8,9,10 and 11 were approximately 29 days. There are 29 days in a moon phase. If this is the case we have a time line, however it would not fit the story chapters in their current order. (perhaps that is why our pages fall out, so we can sort them) Haven't spent much time on this but I though it was interesting. Can't over look anything MS does, everything seems to have some kind of a meaning.

GAM - That's a great catch on the moon thing. But I have a question... are your pages falling out because you broke the spine to see what was hidden in there? I just wondered because mine aren't falling out and i was a little confused (what's new?)

Anyway, the moon thing gives me a little to chew on

    my mouth is getting full!
Calgon, take me away! To the jewels preferably!

    Nice interpretation GAM.

It is my opinion that token hunters are advised to not be afraid of the dark because the tokens are more visible in Moonlight than they are in the daylight. The image of the token in the back of the book shows that it is not shiny gold but is earth tones and textured. It probably is well camouflaged within a tree during daylight. The Moon cycle theory you offer possibly indicates that the tokens are not visible at night during a new moon, i.e. no moonlight.

I broke the spine. Not to worry, I have two other copies and a hard back on it's way....I collect books. Got First Edition Gone With The Wind from my grandmother in mint condition and have been hooked on collection ever since.

Also, MS released this book in 2004, the year we have 13 new moons, also he ends it in 2007 the next year we have 13 new moons.

Hey now that's interesting. Remember the forrest has been dark at night, and during the day they were camoflauged. Well during the dream, a beam of light shines through the otherwise darkness, and now he can see things he couldn't see before - the tokens. Remember also that the jewels shined like stars with this beam of light shining through. Maybe you would likely only see the reflections at night off of the moonlight
    Good Luck all

I noticed the moons some time ago, it's been driving me nuts! I traced the moons ( including the moon-like dandelions) and they make a complete year, with one of the 'moons' ending in the exact spot and shape as another. I keep thinking 12 months in a year= 12 jewels..365 days in a year. Remember friends, all thru the book it is mentioned time and time again that it is Zac and Ana's first anniversary, that it has been one year. It is thrown at the reader, driving that point home. Time is mentioned, but only as Midnight and Noon-12 hour increments. And then there is Time Zones. 4 time zones, 3 jewels in each=12 jewels. I just haven't found out a way that these clues can lead to answers. Any suggestions?

    Default moon in poem?

"The secret is not half, but it is not whole". Is MS referring to a crescent moon?
