    Default Page Number Acorns

Not sure of any significance... can't find anything connecting the pages. On 12 pages the acorn the number is in is tipped directionally.

I was thinking that maybe the pages with acorns that matched directions had clues that belonged together. The wrench in the works is that some are singular. hmm...must think on this longer...

    Default Acorns

I thought it was interesting that there were only one SW, SE, NW, NE and that the number of west facing ones matched the count of the east facing ones. It makes me wonder if we need to collect a certain number of the standard south facing ones to go with the norths.

Yes indeed, why have the acorns been pushed to the backburner? Is it because everyone is furiously trying to solve the Dums?

Now that Dums have bogged down, maybe I will take another shot at cracking the acorns

.........time to add a DAR ring to my collection.........

Another observation on the 12 tipped acorns: May not be important, but 6 of these are on pages with a sun (28, 34, 42, 46, 57, 106) and the other 6 are on pages with a moon (17, 21, 24, 67, 70, 8

I think I got this one

Take the sum of each page number(1+7, 2+1, 2+4 ect.):

    8,3,6,10,7,6,10,12,13,7,16,7

    Translate to the corresponding letters:

    H,C,F,J,G,F,J,L,M,G,P,G

Use ALCHEMISTDAR key to reveal text:

    IOIRLSREGKQI

    Anagram:

KEY IS R IQ OR L

    Translation:

KEY IS "OUR IQ" OR 50

    Conclusion:

I am going off the deep end and truly have no clue what we are supposed to be looking for
    Logic will break your heart......

No no no....you have the anagram wrong! "It's KEY IS LIQORR"

    KEY IS LIQUOR.

You'd be surprised how clear everything becomes if you drink a fifth of gin right before reading the book. I'm beginning to think that's exactly what Stadther did.

Actually, "Keg is Liqorr", which may be even a bit better. The Key, then, is the key to the locked beer chest through which one might acquire a keg of liqorr.
