    Default BN

I have been playing with K1 under some very interesting transformations and came up with a reference to the flag. I got QO SAE and salute which made me think of the Star Spangled banner. My knees melted when I realized the next three words and the similarity to K3.

    Each star has a flag.

The issue of twilight is also present which has been discussed here as a possible explanation of K1's words?

    O SAE = O SAY

My methods are on paper - anagram part of K1 to get a question, anagram K1 again to answer the question and then get a set of remaining letters. Use the remaining letters to apply a very specific crypto method. Using this approach I have opened up a message from JS and Ed, plus a third one. Whether the intent or not the methods are fun to try and add a new twist to the puzzle.

    See words below ...

O! say CAN YOU SEE by the dawn's early light

What so proudly we hailed at the TWILIGHT's last gleaming?
Whose broad stripes and bright stars through the perilous fight,
O'er the ramparts we watched were so gallantly streaming?
And the rockets' red glare, the bombs bursting in air,
Gave proof through the night that our flag was still there.
Oh, say does that star-spangled banner yet wave
O'er the land of the free and the home of the brave?

On the shore, dimly seen through the MISTS of the deep,
Where the foe's haughty host in dread silence reposes,
What is that which the breeze, o'er the towering steep,
As it fitfully blows, half conceals, half discloses?
Now it catches the gleam of the morning's first beam,
In full glory reflected now shines in the stream:
'Tis the star-spangled banner! Oh long may it wave
O'er the land of the free and the home of the brave!

And where is that band who so vauntingly swore
That the havoc of war and the battle's confusion,
A home and a country should leave us no more!
Their blood has washed out their foul footsteps' pollution.
No refuge could save the hireling and slave
From the terror of flight, or the gloom of the GRAVE:
And the star-spangled banner in triumph DOTH wave
O'er the land of the free and the home of the brave!

O! thus be it ever, when freemen shall stand
Between their loved home and the war's desolation!
Blest with victory and peace, may the heav'n rescued land
Praise the Power that hath made and preserved us a nation.
Then conquer we must, when our cause it is just,
And this be our motto: 'In God is our trust.'
And the star-spangled banner in triumph shall wave
O'er the land of the free and the home of the brave!

United States Code, 36 USC Sec. 301 says that during the playing of The Star Spangled Banner (United States National Anthem) when the flag is displayed, everyone except those in uniform should stand at attention while facing the flag and have their right hand over their heart. Individuals in attendance that aren't in uniform should remove anything they are wearing on their head with their right hand and hold it at their left shoulder, with their hand held over their heart. Individuals in uniform should show the military SALUTE during the first note of the anthem and stay in this position until the last note. If the flag is not displayed, people in attendance should face the music and respond as if the flag were present

    Default Step 1

Since the word iqlusion is misspelled this indicates to me to anagram. See ATT WC#1.

IQ LU SI ON pronounced as "IQ LU see ON". Where do we find I "smart lucy" with a good memory=> perhaps LUCID MEMORY? I have not followed this trail.

QI LU SI ON pronounced as "Key LU see ON". Is Lucy Key? I have not followed this trail.

QI L US I ON pronounced as "Key 50 United States I On". What key would be on a 50 United STates? How about Francis Scott Key - the 50 being the stars - and I On. The Answer is a STAR. The star is one of the 50 marks on the flag.

QI is also CHI => breath, or X, or mark. Could be the mark on the flag I one. Still a star.

QI L US NO I => Mark of the United States Number I? Number One or Number Eye? Who is Eye? Who am I? Who's mark?

    QUI'S NO LI => Who's number 51? How can we have a number 51 and a STAR?

U QI NO LI'S => You breath of No 51. You speak the name. You talk about No 51's breath, life, chi. You honor No 51 with remembrance.

Who is the number 51 star? This is the trail I followed ... Find why there are more than 50 stars and who is our 51st?

We have recently seen posts where the puzzle is being compared to a flag, but the flag had too many stars. I think Sue pointed out the higher number. However, I found how we can have more than 50 stars.

Do you agree that wfb is 51?

    Default Queens B Night

"queens b night" to me represents another embedded message within K1. This message refers to a Knight's Tour. A Knight's Tour is a cipher route on a 8x8 grid, or a chess board, that I just recently was reading about. Since K1 was 63 squares if one adds a null Q to get a set of 8 by 8 letters we can perform a Knight's tour on the cipher.

There are a great many solutions to the tour - how ever there is a popular chance of starting in a corner - or the starting position of the knight. But which corner and which knight? The QUEENS Black kNIGHT. BN is FEN for black knight. The n is used because the K is for King.

So put K1 into an 8 x 8 grid with Q for the last letter. Keep the other 63 letters as uppercase so the null q stands out. (There are some very interesting 8 letter phrases here)

    BETWEENS - be twee NS
    UBTLESHA - u b T le sha[h]
    DINGANDT - ding and T
    HEABSENC - he a B[lack] Sen sei
    EOFLIGHT - EO FLIGHT ?
    LIESTHEN - LIES THEN ?
UANCEOFI - you ance ring phone
QLUSIONq - 50 US one on

Get the 8 x 8 route map for the queens black knight corner as map1.
Get the 8 x 8 route map for the queens black knight's chess position as map2.

    http://www.worle.com/chess/solution.htm

    map1 top row is 01 40 15 24 43 36 13 26
    map2 top row is 48 01 18 23 54 33 16 25

Translate the letters based on the maps and get a new 8x8 arrangement of letters. Both of these squares do not offer a full plain text solution of english - but instead Not Quite English (NQE).

This map is the answer map whose top row is just 01 02 03 04 05 06 07 08. Just keep the letters in order but pick from the maps not the original text.

However what I find most interesting is both are signed. Map2 should give you the first two letters of ED.
Map1 will end with Geh Ce Q o sae I.

My son is in 3rd grade and this week's spelling lesson was on how soft g is pronounced as a j and ce is pronounced as a s. So Geh Ce is JS. h is silent or JS has a middle name beginning with H ?

I also got reference to Qi or Key and O sae. Again what key goes O say?

The National Anthem O! say CAN YOU SEE by the dawn's early light, Here I think we have a reference to K3 What CAN YOU SEE Q

I know this is a lot to digest in a small post, but I did most of it on paper with pencil. But if you play with the anagrams, make the 8 x 8 with Q, and find a reference for the Knight's Tour make a map for the upper left corner (space 1) and one for the next position over (space 2). Produce two new 8 x 8 grids we have a set of interesting hints both with potential signatures.

    The 8 x 8 can also be rotated 90 like a palmipsest.
Also, the shape of the knight's move on the chess board is the shape of an L.

    I'll double check my answers.

    Default K1 as a 8 x 8 Story

    Looking at K1 as an 8 x 8 image - not as a 63 character line - we get a story.

Line 1 - We send some one out around the world far and wide North to South
Line 2 - We communicate to them securely passing information back and forth from/to T
Line 3 - Something goes wrong - an accident - the DING
Line 4 - Who - the black night, the sensei, the jedi master, a father, a son , or a daughter ?
Line 5 - A day flight back to return to us from far and wide North to South
Line 6 - Continue the cover with lies or protect the others with deception
Line 7 - We have not heard - the dreaded phone call
Line 8 - A flag to cover me and a star to etch

Star Spangled Banner, Taps, Salute, Amen.

Treefinder, I enjoy reading your thoughts. I will have to come back when they are not all "quack'd" up.

    Very cool.
