    Default Encyclopedia order

I originally started ordering the Past Hunts section by publish date when I was doing it but what would you like the order to be? Alphabetical, publish date, author? State your reasons if you have them...thanks!

To me, it seems alphabetical would be the easiest to scan thru and find the hunt you are looking for.

I agree with net. I think alphabetical by title would be easiest. I don't know when any of them were published, I don't know the author's name on all of them, but if I want to look up a past hunt, I'll most likely know the title.

Very good point. The most common information everyone is going to know is the title and maybe the author.

I was thinking about this and the only negative is this is going to be a BEAST if we want to update it in the future. Hunts will be inserted into the middle forcing page number adjustments in the index, appendices and table of contents buuuuuut of course it is still doable.

Well, LaTeX isn't something you learn overnight. It's a typesetting system, not an editor, used primarily in mathematics and the physical sciences. It allows great flexibility in formatting, at the cost of a steep learning curve.

Interested parties can get an idea of the system at the project site.

Thanks Molnar. I've been reading some brief overviews and saw some examples, I'm definitely looking into this deeper, I saw some examples and it looks similar to bbCode with tags. Do you have any experience with creating LaTeX docs? Any major points I should be worried about?

I create LaTeX documents all the time. If the document you plan on producing is rather lengthy, I would suggest the book documentclass. This will let you have all sorts of frontmatter like a table of contents, preface, etc. and backmatter like a bibliography, appendices and indexes.

The trickiest thing might be including figures. There are different add-on packages that let you do this. The type of work I do generally involves importing postscript figures, but you can do other types with certain packages, or you can convert the figures to encapsulated postscript.

Overall, if you are familiar with mark-up languages it shouldn't be too shocking. If all you know are WYSIWYG editors, then you've probably got some learning to do. Also, I generally do my work in Linux. I've used TeX/LaTeX in Windows, but not for quite some time.

If this is a direction that you plan to pursue, I am willing to help with technical direction (assuming I have the time).
