# Thread: MAY 15th MARANATHA INTERVIEW TRANSCRIPT

1. Maybe the holy grail IS our heart. Now that's an angle.

2. When the whole deal of Geometry came up some months back, I bought a cool ruler set with a compass and some other neat devices. I thought
I was on to something when I drew a line from Joseph as he leans and preys upon his staff;

TO THE VERY HEEL AND TOE OF AARON.

You can actually make a line of sight through aaron's heel and toe. WOW cool... or so I thought. There's nothing else that is a blatant about where lines could go... so I started adding lines and letters... came up with 36 and turns out 36 degrees is one of the sacred angles of a pentagram.

All right!!! On to something!! (Yeah, right!)
Since I had no clue from the text as to where they should go I started from my line... and drew freakin pentagrams all over the freakin pictures. Problem is I thought... hey, maybe the alchemic symbols would land between the points of the pentagram... or maybe they would "point the way" and maybe I could work out a number.

No.

I drew so many freakin pentagrams, my wife was starting to think I'd joined some cult and was worshiping satan!

3. hey veelon this is the very process ive been using.
pentagrams, hexagrams and every other gram in between but nothing matches up.
clearly rulers are involved because duncan or is that rickyyarrow/achillies says to get ruler out and a basic understanding of geometry is helpfull.
i think the method to decode the puzzle lies in the symbols there not present on flamels images why are they on maranatha .

4. Something a little interesting about the part of the interview where V (of course, it had to be V :}) was asking quesions. Here's from the official transcript

<Veelon> wow... I have 4 kids... as challenging as that?
<Sacred_Prize> Time is an issue, and having to accept that people think you are crazy
<cthree> that last statment is a good one.
<Sacred_Prize> Indeed. (Empathy to you)
<cthree> can you elaborate on the "time" statement? if i may interject?
<Veelon> Thanks... haha
<cthree> ;D
<Sacred_Prize> Not meaning to be rude, that is not the case, but when dealing on a global scale every hour of the day on office across the world opens and calls us, and normally it gets passed to me.
<Veelon> ouch
<cthree> ah of course,
<Veelon> I have 2 more... is that ok?

<cthree> hi
<Sacred_Prize> Hello Veelon
<Veelon> aaaaahhh booted

Here's from my Cut and Paste

[23:03] <Veelon> wow... I have 4 kids... as challenging as that?
[23:03] <Sacred_Prize> Indeed. (Empathy to you)
[23:04] <Veelon> Thanks... haha
[23:05] <Sacred_Prize> Not meaning to be rude, that is not the case, but when dealing on a global scale every hour of the day on office across the world opens and calls us, and normally it gets passed to me.
[23:05] <Veelon> ouch

[23:05] <Veelon> ouch
[23:05] <Veelon> I have 2 more... is that ok?
[23:05] <Sacred_Prize> He writes this at four in the morning
[23:06] *** Veelon has quit (Read error: Connection reset by peer)
[23:06] *** Veelon has joined #maranatha
[23:06] *** ChanServ sets mode +v on Veelon
[23:06] <Sacred_Prize> Hello Veelon
[23:06] <Veelon> aaaaahhh booted
[23:06] <Veelon> scary

What is interesting to me is that Sacred Prize is mentioning "time" and then says "four" in the morning, but by my figuring, it was "three" in the morning for him. What caught my attention is that is the time he said he received the call RE: the key.

Anyone want to check my math and time zones? Maybe Duncan just made a mistake about "four", but the coincidence was a little odd.

Going with this obvious non-sequitur, would the position of the clock's hands at 4:00 give anybody a useful angle? We don't need geometry, but a ruler -

Nice catch, Rob.

6. Hi Carol,

Thanks for the comments. I'm really not sure if it was an intentional "slip" or just some sort of mistake.

Off hand, the 4:00 hand positions don't mean anything to me. It is a 120 deg angle, "4" is a number that has been thrown around in connection with the puzzle, the last clue was 4 3 2, etc.

Thanks for the suggestions. I'll keep them in mind.

Rob

7. From my recollection of when the interview took place, which matches the timestamp on the transcript if it was for EDT, I think Duncan had it right. Time difference between EDT and BDT is 5 hours. 23:05 + 5:00 = 4:05

The interview started around 3:00 BDT and lasted about 1.5 hrs.

8. Thanks, Molnar. I thought someone had mentioned the interview started at 2:00 for Duncan.

9. ## Edited Transcripts for Clarity

Hello All.

While I'm waiting for Priory to correct their mistake and send the first book to me (I've received the Companion and a tube of posters), I am gathering info for a beginning understanding of the puzzle, creating files and cross referencing system.

Part of doing so was to copy the transcripts of the chat sessions and edit them to delete the "unnecessary parts".

No offense to Cthree or anyone else. This was merely done for the "cut to the heart of the matter" approach. The only text deleted were chat command texts, hello's, goodbyes, thanks yous, etc.

Questions by users were cleaned up a little for spelling, but Duncans answers were not edited in any form or fashion. (Except for one point where 3 questions were formed into one paragraph, then there was side discussion, then Duncan answered all 3 questions in one paragraph. I merely seperated question to answer without editing)

Anyway, I put the files into a zip and I'm leaving it here for others that might want the edited version.

I found that getting to the "heart of the matter" gave me clearer thinking to see the "bones" that Duncan threw about.

I hope this helps. Again, thank you for the chat transcripts Cthree and no disrespect with the side discussion editing.
