Properties of the book (and clues) that accompany the core puzzle. These act as signatures, verifying the source of the puzzle. So, yes, they are a big deal, to me.

I readily admit that some of these could be classified as coincidence, or gray areas, alhtough the odds against single occurrences are often very high. Taken as a whole, the chance that hundreds (thousands?) of these are coincidental is, for practical purposes, impossible.

The introduction to the puzzle says “it is believed this is the world’s most unique puzzle book.” That is an extreme understatement.

Given its uniqueness, I count myself extremely fortunate to have come across its path.

    astreet,

I'm not being argumentative just to be ornery, but I would have to disagree with you that the odds of finding 3 and 4 letter words in grids containing thousands of letters is improbable. It is positively PROBABLE.

    Hear, hear.

And I'm always argumentative and ornery. It's part of my charm.

    lol

    John,

I have to agree with you regarding 3 and 4 letter words. I wouldn't say that the most recent grids posted are a strong example ; they were more something I came across after michaelr's reference to the banquet (EAT, KNIFE), and so contain some relational context.

But, I have run some trials on non-Maranatha text, and hadn't run into stack relational strings like HUG EAT MOM (and GUSTA).

But, the RED KEY and SEEK seemed appropriate to the puzzle in general.

The SICK PERU (and DEAD and some others I didn't highlight) ?? (GUSTA is Spanish)

In the recent clue, I don't think it would be unusual to have a letter (like the R) land in 18th position. And maybe even the E (5).

But, when they are the only two, and they add together to yield the 23, which is the sum of its positions, it looked improbable. So, I highlighted it.

Does it prove anything by itself? No. Is it part of the primary puzzle. No. But does it support (or even suggest) the uniqueness of the puzzle?

At any rate, I believe I understand your comments.

For myself, I can only try to maintain an open mind and consider the possibilities, while looking at these things, in addition to the main puzzle.
