I like your connections to the Queen of Hearts and Lady Di. Now, do you think this will point us to a location associated with Lady Di?

What leads me to think this may be associated with Lady Diana is the broken crown on the chess piece. When she became divorced, I believe she lost the title of HRH. However, she kept the title Princess of Wales.


Also, I noticed that the sign Gemini was in the puzzle and hadn't been used yet and that also people were trying to locate a specific date for a shadow perhaps. The sign Gemini's last day is June 21st which also happen's to be the Summer Soltisice.

I like that way of thinking. I did a quick look at Diana's Zodiac sign and she was born July 1, which makes her a Cancer (the crab in the sky??).
Also, June 21 would be the last day of Gemini and June 22 would be the first day of Cancer.

There could definitely be a tie in, I think.

At first, I was guessing that the shadow date was going to be the Fall Equinox, since Masquerade's date was the Spring Equinox. But I could see how Dillon might want to make it less obvious and pick the Summer Solstice. Plus, drawings 1 & 3 do look like they take place during the summer, eh?

The Masquerade treasure could have been found at noon on both the Spring and the Fall Equinox. On these two dates the day and night are of equal length and the shadow of the cross would have fallen on the exact same spot.
