    Default nekocon hunt

I am considering going for the hunt (could care less about cartoons) but I couldnt find any info on the hunt or that SQ would even be there on the nekocon site. Anyone know any more info then what has been posted on SQ? Like what the prize will be etc.

    Thanks, Jay

No advance word on the prize. ; ) We're being sneaky. Though our last con-hunt prizes ranged from $1200 sapphires, $4500 statues w/emeralds, to $1000 jewels. So, hey, it'll be worth your while. ; )

We've tried to get word on the site, and apparently they made a big announcement in the forums... but it's so close to con time, and we were a last-minute addition to the convention, that I doubt their webmaster or con chair is really able to do anything except freak out right now.

Well I didn't find the treasure but I did have a blast. My brother in law is now hooked (insert evil laugh here). We were looking for a really nice star sapphire I think 11 karats could be wrong though, It seemed like the size of my thumbnail. Met Evan and Lisa(maybe) I'm really horrible with names. It looked like an awesome event for SQ the table was always packed with people wanting to hear/learn more about the hunts, lots of excited people running around looking in bushes. I also got to see the book they had a display copy on the table and its awesome I cant wait for mine so I can get started. I will definatley be going to all future CON hunts in my driving distance. I might post some pics if I dig the camera out of the car.

Jay, you and your brother were awesome! And so glad you all (and everyone else in that 75-person Sunday Clue Crowd) had such fun doing it. We've done some idiotic things as a company, but the whole point of this venture was to give people a crazy, awesome time hunting for real treasure. And at least the people who come work on the Con hunts know we're not stringing anyone along on prizes. The two people who won, though I didn't get their emails, did indeed get that 11 carat star sapphire. Heck, Jay, you got to see it before you left, too. : )

Sure hope next time we appear in someone's town, they all come out to hunt with the other best treasure nuts in the country. We'll do our best to make it worth your while.

And Jay, feel free to post clues/solves if you want to. It's no secret anymore, now that that hunt is through.

Get a local con to bring us out as guests and to run a hunt, and we'll be happy to. We've done them at A-kon Dallas, NekoCon in Hampton, VA, CageCon Dallas and KatsuCon in DC, if you need stuff to show off to them with. And we've always gotten invited back. Other than that, we've no real centralized way of gathering folks together to hunt like oddballs.

Ok, I've sent an email, but it bounced, so I'll have to figure it out... but you should seriously consider:

The 2007 Motor City Comic Con.

I thought all we did in Detroit was Auto Shows, but I guess I was wrong.
