    Default A.1 Tooth and Claw

I'm thinking it is a flow chart of first letters of the animals.

If you start at Wolf, biting Horse, biting Owl, WHO
owl shares Kangaroo, back to Iguana, Lion, Leopard, Elephant KILLE
maybe back to Dog to Cobra Cat Otter WHO KILLED CCO

Seems to dead end there, but there are two other Wolf paths

    Wolf, Iguana and so on,

Wolf, Rattlesnake, Otter, Beaver, (crane? egret? stork? heron?) Manticore.

    WHO KILLED CCOWROBEM

Play with it, and see what you think.

I think your "Manticore" is Narwhal.

Manticore - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The manticore (Baricos in Greek) is a legendary creature similar to the Egyptian sphinx. It has the body of a red lion, a human head with three rows of sharp teeth (like a shark), and a trumpet-like voice. Other aspects of the creature vary from story to story. It may be horned, winged, or both. The tail is that of either a dragon or a scorpion, and it may shoot poisonous spines to either paralyse or kill its victims. The creature's feet may also be of a dragon.

If the bird was an ibis, it could be "who killed c corbin", but there doesn't seem to be anyone with that initial.

Edit: Nevermind, didn't see Molnar had it on the wiki already.

    shoot, you're right.

I was thinking of the mantiwhal, which is pretty much my favorite animal right now.

I could be completely wrong about the method...I just thought WHO was a pretty nice start.

If you go to the next possible animal after each dead end and follow it, it does work out nicely, though (and there are 5 animals out of 16 now that begin with vowels).

    Woah!!!!

If it was King Cobra, then it could be "Who killed cock robin?"
Cock Robin - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

So the answer could be SPARROW.

Edit: After thinking over this, it is a bit contrived. It does fit with the animal theme, though.
