The drummer gets ten points...
I could see getting through this one time as a performer - no way I could repeat the tight cadences. Music is something else, eh? The CD I just told Des about I now hate with a passion... maybe four days ago?
Music reflects, that's for certain.
Thanks, C.
Perfect! Nice listening. :P
Next? (Keep in mind my kids are asleep...)
Ok! Speaking of drummers, heres the most often sampled drum track in history for your listening pleasure, based in part on the ramblings of Mr. James Brown.
Funky Drummer
"Still good! It's still good!"
Seriously like a clock though and the sax solo is sweet. I love how James talks them through the change...You know hows he always pointing this way and that? I heard hes actually fining his musicans for slipping a bit. lol!
"thats 5 dollars brotha!"
and then, after time passed, and he got fined a few more times, he became error free with James wisdom. This track basically proves that.
:P
More more more, please.
I love all kinds of music! am hoping this weekend to have the time to listen to some of the tracks listed in this thread! just thought I would drop a note before work - I took one of my girls to see Nickel Creek Sat night and they had an unusual and excellent little opening band - unique presentation - music excellent IMO - they call them selves the Ditty Bops - I know they have a web site - not sure if you can catch tracks from their album there - I will check it out and post link if there is one - or anyone with an interest can look them up. Fun to watch new bands take off after working as openers for big name groups - last year when I took KAtie to see Nickel Creek - Howie Day and David Berkeley where openers - now Howie Day is well known -
gotta run! get through the day so I can come back and sample some of these new flavors!

imagination is the only weapon we have in the war against reality!
success is simply getting up one more time than you fall
"Calling on Angels" is an awesome song by Jane Siberry. You can find it at www.sheeba.ca. It's her own site and it's a free download.http://www.sheeba.ca/index2.html
OK, so I offer one of my all time favorite songs. I have no capability to provide a link for you, but if you can find this, grab it. It's got a mean Latin beat with counterpoints between a great brass line and the winds, and the singer's lines provide a smoothness to the overall movement. A good chianti with paella? Try it out.
Land of Make Believe
Chuck Mangione
When you're feeling down and out
Wondering what this world's about
I know a place that has the answer
It's a place where no one dies
It's a land where no one cries
And good vibrations always
Greet you
How I love when my thoughts run
To the land of make believe
Where everything is fun
Forever
Children always gather ‘round
Mother Goose and all her rhyme
They fill the air with sounds
Of laughter
People dancing
Their hearts are filled
With all the reasons why
You and I should learn the way
Of the land of make believe
And make this world of ours
Much brighter
I once asked the Wizard of Oz
For the secret of his land
He said, “Just take a look around here”
Seven dwarves and Little Boy Blue
Uncle Remus and Snow White, too
Now just between us, that’s what’s known
As integration
Jack and Jill are hard at work
Helping children dream a while
And Snoopy’s making smiles
for grownups.
All the elves are making toys
They are rich with all the joys
Of seeing happy kids
At Christmas
We are waiting
To help you find
The dream inside of you
In a few words let’s just say
That an answer to your quiz
Imagination is
The secret
Hear the music of the band
It was written in our land
But what’s a song but someone’s
dreams
In your world there was a King
He once said, “I have a dream”
Now there’s a man who knew
The secret
Dreams are really
The thoughts that you have hidden in
Your heart
When you start a brand new day
Let your heart show you the way
And make a dream or two
Come true
How I love when my thoughts run
To the land of make believe
Where everything is fun
Forever
I can speak personally for this guy's music. Spider sent me 2 tracks:
The Children of Sanchez
and
Chase the Clouds Away
Both are must listen.
