kind of wish I lived in Seattle... this looks like fun...

The Northern Red Legged Frog... Rana aurora... also its proximate species Rana draytonii depicted in Mark Twain's Leaping Frog of Calaveras County (hint provided in the papers).

"Leaping" may be important here.. as these frogs are know for this...

Though a different frog... the "California Red Legged" could also apply.. A "STATELY" SPECIES

this may indicate a Seattle location that could have a tie to the areas of California where this frog is located.. like a street name perhaps...

SILENT COAST..... SEATTL ICONS ....NOTICES LAST...

anyway.. some really good anagrams here..

well good luck... again, I wish I was there...

a few additional thoughts..

COURSING IN CLOISTER... perhaps a Catholic school of some type.. or religious school... for this much evolved creature. "MAN"

Hidden "Beneath" "SOUTH" when found in nature... perhaps a park... south of a school.. with something referring to California...

Clue 3

From the Frog City's woodland "Year of " leaps,
To a temperate locale, via bustling streets.
Feel confident heading down the right track,
No second guessing when the Zoo's got your back

Heck for $2500 I'm going tom find someone in Seattle to help. I recall a old girl friend that moved there.........

Somewhere within Seattle city limits, a mysterious and unique Emerald City Search Medallion will be hidden in plain sight—and it's up to the Seattle community to find it!
In celebration of The Year of the Frog, Woodland Park Zoo and the University of Washington announce the third annual Emerald City Search.
The Search Begins!
Join the hunt for the Medallion—check our clues page as we reveal a new clue each day along with some fascinating facts about the Year of the Frog. The first to find the medallion wins $2500 in cash and prizes.

Beginning on October 15th, The Seattle Times and www.seattletimes.com will publish one clue each day for ten consecutive days, leading Seattle adventurers to the location of the mysterious Medallion. Scholars from the University of Washington, including some of the world's foremost experts in amphibian biology and aquatic conservation, developed the series of challenging clues designed to lead the luckiest and most clever explorer to the medallion's secret location.
Truly a community quest, only solving the clues can guide the seeker to discovery. The first qualified person(s) to correctly solve the clues and follow the directions on the back of the medallion will receive $2500 in cash and prizes.
About the Year of the Frog
Frogs and other amphibians are in severe decline in the Northwest and all over the world. Habitat destruction, a deadly parasitic fungus and other environmental threats may already have eradicated as many as 165 amphibian species. During 2008, Woodland Park Zoo joins the Association of Zoos and Aquariums in a globally coordinated public awareness campaign "The Year of the Frog." The main goal of this campaign is to generate public awareness and understanding of the amphibian extinction crisis which represents the greatest species conservation challenge in the history of humanity.
The Emerald City Search, developed to underscore the significance of experiential learning and the contributions of UW's renowned faculty to the community, is a partnership between the University of Washington's College of Arts & Sciences, the Hillel Foundation and UW Alumni Association, and in cooperation with The Seattle Times and Woodland Park Zoo.
Thank you to Playmasons, Architects of Fun for their creative and invaluable assistance in creating this year's Emerald City Search.

Here is a map of the Zoo:

They have a "brown bear" on the map which is also on the State flag of California. Each are the same both on the map and state flag........
