If the key has been found it would be advantageous to whoever found it to hold onto it and not cash in until the last possible moment since the prize increases for each copy of the album he sells.

There was one hint that I thought he could offer that wouldn't be too terrible. There are two separate bible verses that fit one section of the redacted text. I thought it would be good if he told us which one he meant between these two:

"Then mount four rows of precious stones on it. In the first row there shall be a ruby, a topaz and a beryl;" Exodus 28:17

    and

"Then they mounted four rows of precious stones on it. In the first row there was a ruby, a topaz and a beryl;" Exodus 39:10

Barely a hint really. More of a clarification.

Only one of these verses fit exactly...

There's a clause in the rules that whoever finds the key has to claim the prize within 30 days of finding it. I'm pretty sure Steve's got someone monitoring the location, so if it was found, he sure would notice heh.

    Default Mr. Spangler

Just some things I'd been playing around with after watching some Marvin Spangler videos on YouTube:

    - His movies are mildly well done, scripted, and set up. Objects in the background are put there very obviously on purpose.

    - Though young, he looks like he could be related to Steve Mc Allister.

    - An anagram of "Marvin Spangler" is "Vernal Map Rings."

I'm not putting too much into what he's saying, but his ideas are at least interesting.

Has Marvin put out any videos beyond the first three or so? The last one was using the CD over the map.

Default The stuff around the map.

I'm thinking that the symbols around the map are a substitution cipher.

The most common "set" is this one '-||-'. It occurs 7 times so I'm thinking that's my 'e'.

There are three of these: '||-|'. Two of which occur before the '-||-'s and after the '|||-' of which there are four.

The sequence "|||-,||-|,-||-" occurs twice so I'm operating under the assumption that this sequence is "T-H-E".

Both sequences are separated by one "set" which is '-||--'. This "set" only appears once. Maybe 'y'? Could be just about anything.

So that's what I've got for that one. I'm pretty irritated now and am stopping for the day but I just wanted to share with someone.

    Thanks.

I had considered a while ago that -||- was an E. If the T and H are as you suggest, maybe -||-- is an N. That would make "THEN THE." Of course, the THE is at the end of a side, so it could continue on the next side. The word breaks could be anywhere. I'm playing with different letter patterns.
