If you are interested in the kind of treasure hunt, have you heard about The Ultimate Quest? It's been around for a while, but is one of the most interesting and thought provoking. It's also got a very interesting treasure to find. Google it if you don't already know about it.

Default Hints in the Marvin Spangler videos

No activity on this hunt in awhile, but here are my observations on the videos and the hints contained within. The first has the obvious glance at the coffee cup. It is a NASA cup with the "Failure is not an option" quote. It must be tied in with the whole sun-moon-planets-space theme somehow. In the second video he says "exxxxxcept" followed by the drawn X. This is the hint on how to decode "My Silver Key" as discussed previously on the board. The third is a clear reference to using/identifying colors with the RGB notation. Not sure how that applies yet, although that 5-sided Rubik's cube appears in the first few videos.

So it seems obvious to me that these are indeed hints, as they are "hidden" apart from what he is saying. What do you think the hints are in the last 2 videos?

PS- For those of you that did a digital download of the album, were you able to get an electronic copy of the album clues? I can't seem to get a response regarding that.

Thanks for sharing your search adventure. Seeing some potential confirmations must have been pretty exciting! Did you ask yourself a great big why? Such a large park will apparently require solving most or all of the hints to find the location I guess. It looks like a truly beautiful park to visit sometime and hike the trails.

    Regards,
    Brian

I don't understand why people in certain states cannot participate. *Pouts*

    Funny you should mention that.

"You'll ask a great big why"

I really wish I had thought to take a picture of this at the time but it just didn't seem like a permanent enough thing to be relevant. There's a trail by the South Falls that splits off toward the picnic area and painted on the path to denote the split is a big white line that's shaped like a letter 'y'. Each leg of the 'y' points toward a direction on the path. When I was trying to crowbar my solution into the clues, I figured the "great big why" was the way Silver Creek splits into two forks at the park.

"Where the blue meets the blue."

Water meeting with other water? Like a waterfall?

    "You'll pine a little."

There are pine trees EVERYWHERE up there. I never want to see another damn pine tree. There's christmas tree farms for miles and miles on the drive up there.

I don't know either. Kind of lame. Maybe a gambling law thing?

Interesting. I was thinking the "big why" would be some play on words like that. Or possibly one of those large mountain monograms, but I'm not aware of any "Y" in Oregon. As for "pine a little", I had originally thought of sitting on a bench (as in "riding the pine" during a baseball game). That could be consistent with your find with the memorial.

Default Where the blue meets the blue

There have been several other clues that point toward an Oregon solution. Where the blue meets the blue and some of the lines in the song "the story so far" about a stream that leads to a river...to the sea" could point to the river that flows north through Oregon and out to the Columbia River between Ore and Washington.

Good find - lets drive this thing home!
