Looking back at it, not sure whether time is relevant at all. The page to look at is the first one for this chapter when you log onto the net, at least that's how it appears for me. Guess who wrote what...... might also explain some things.

Okay... got the second date... So I assume that is present then... so that leaves me with three possible years if it stays true to form...

Don't know where the time came from for the second one... I got it through trial and error... sigh...

Thankfully brute force is a valid solving method.

I love deadlines. I like the whooshing sound they make as they fly by. ~ Douglas Adams

If you're not part of the solution, you're part of the precipitate. ~ Henry J. Tillman

Some people are lost in the shuffle. I'm shuffling along with the lost.

lol... Just being honest. I do love this puzzle though... really elegantly done. And the quality of writing in the text itself is top-notch. That's a huge bonus! It's just plain interesting to read, let alone work on...

I'm worried now as I didn't use any times at all. I did have the first face changing bit from the given time, but that was all. I got there from the jumbled assorted page and moving through the book. I already had my answers to fill in. No brute force just hunt the thimble.

Could you perhaps explain this a bit more? Your first two sentences seem contradictory. Are you implying that there is a back door that allows one to skip using the clock widget?

Janet is looking into the way I got there, maybe it was a short cut that I shouldn't have taken?

It seems like it at the moment but whether or not it should be there I don't know. Maybe not if Janet is investigating. I used a darkened area to find the relevant boxes, not sure if they are at the beginning of every new chapter.

I'm a bit disappointed. The previous chapters didn't require brute force, just very close attention to detail -- both with the actual book/story and the chapter story. This one felt ... I don't know ... I mean I loved the chapter story -- and I know the tie in BUT then again --- I don't really know the tie in. Even if there wasn't a real tie-in, to me, it seems it 'should' have been easy to find the tie in.

Given the clues - I'm thinking along the lines of previous chapters and how they always relate back to the book or the chapter. This one, was just out there. The clue was cool -- I got the grid/grille right away --- but was lost as to how it related to the overall story.

Anyway ... on any other cipher/game/ARG/ whatever ... I would try all things and brute force would be right up there. I just didn't think 'this' game would resort/require it. I like the idea of needing to pay attention to detail, read the book that inspired the chapter and all the parts to the chapter --- but this one fell short for me.

I hope future chapters don't resort to brute forcing. I like understanding why/how/when/where/ etc... not just because I kept clicking until it worked.

I loved the story! Love what Janet did with the characters but I just wish it would have been tied together better in the end. That the end would have made it all make sense.

But I love this series --- love it!! I have it on my Facepage and tell all my friends and family and their kids about it. And I'll be right there for the rest. This was just not my favorite. If I've missed some very obvious tie-in please let me know. At any rate, It's all still good. I love this series and it's all so slick. Just a little disappointed brute force was required.
