Default The Great Global Treasure Hunt on Google Earth

    Hi,

The Great Global Treasure Hunt on Google Earth is due to be released in September. According to an article in the Daily Telegraph yesterday it looks like the author was a former editor of Mensa puzzles and the book has some similarities to Masquerade insomuch as the images contain several clues.

The book cover states that it is "The interactive puzzle quest for 50,000".

You can read the telegraph article here:
Google Earth’s €50,000 treasure hunt will be ‘Masquerade’ for 2011 - Telegraph

And you can pre-order the book on amazon.co.uk

I am looking forward to this being published and can foresee many sleepless nights ahead

    Question Seems kind of short

The article says that treasure hunters can submit their reply between the September 1 launch and March to gain entry into the lottery pool for the prize. Seven months seems like an awfully short time to try and solve a whole Masquerade-like book hunt. @_@ It sounds interesting, and I might check it out, even though Google Earth tends to crash my computer.

It also seems kind of crappy that if you get the right answer, you only get a lottery ticket's chance at getting the main prize. :/

    Thanks for posting this, Writerian.

Even though this book claims to be another Masquerade, it does seem to ultimately comes down to a random drawing taken from all the correct answers submitted. However, if the puzzles are difficult, it's possible the number of correct entries could be small.

Here is a year-old post from the author's website. At that time, he did not intend on having the winner chosen by chance.

The Labyrinth: win lots of money easily

I guess he changed his mind or his publishers talked him out of it.

    This looks very promising.
The author says to solve the puzzlers you need to solve the author.

    So does anyone know him?

Or is that just his way of trying to get us to buy his 50 previous published puzzle books!

He's written a book on both Freemasonry and the Kaballah

    Amazon.co.uk: Tim Dedopulos: Books

So the ex-Maranathans should be happy.
