Forrest’s Surprise Words: Walking too Far – Mysterious Writings

Posted on July 16, 2016 by Jenny Kile

A polite-like email from Kristie, who admits to being a desk person, prompts me to say that if you are walking long distances in search of the treasure, you’re walking too far. f

    Yesterday was an interesting day.

    1. The Lady in ICU

My day started with a sweet lady developing severe respiratory distress. Her daughter wouldn't allow anyone else to intubate her mother, and thankfully, we were successful. She was transferred to a bigger hospital and is slowly recuperating.

    2. I caught a Snorlax.

Proof positive of government mind control: I purchased a disposable phone for the express purpose of playing Pokémon Go. Jenny Kile is a wise woman. I was thinking of the number of people walking around the park on the weekends, and I considered putting up a table for free refreshments. Thinking about a name, I thought about 'hippopotamus', and it sorta bonked me on the head, particularly when considering a crocodile with it.

    3. Supper at Athena's.

My bunch wanted Greek food--and I'm seldom opposed with the physique to prove it--so away we went. The radio begins playing 'Obssession', and I begin thinking about unfinished stories and ones that are complete, and I'll bet Einstein never envisioned how relative things could be. And, over gyros and chicken schwarma once again, a good friend shared his happy news: his favorite band appears to be releasing a new album soon.

    4. Netflix goodness

One of my crew had heard about a new series on Netflix called 'Stranger Things'. I started watching it, and was kinda shocked on how good it was. It will be promoted to the Big TV in the living room tonight from my computer monitor, so we can all participate.

    God works in mysterious ways,

    Doc

PS--I wish I had words for the emotions that surged when all this crashed together.

Instead, it scared me so bad I took a dump that would have made an elephant proud.

    Mr. Fenn = Miralax.

Doc, its good to see you appreciate so many things.

I really appreciate Mr. Fenn. He's very kind and generous in the best way.

I still think a little bit each day about how to solve the poem. It provides so much for discovery, that is for certain. Sometines I think there is no canyon even though it says canyon. I would conclude a boat is involved but there is no boat. I think of hearing, but that doesnt have anything to do with sound. Etc. I feel the answer is a matter of having the right inspiration.

My day started very early...my bed is too far to walk towards and its too late to sleep for very long.

On a side note, I had a problem with a piano. It was damaged probaby beyond repair and abandoned at a site for disposal. I made the decision to sledge it. I brought its 500-600 pound body down to manageable pieces for recycling and I kept the cast iron harp as a souvenier. It might make a nice sculpture in my garden.

Well, rats. I thought I had it, but the line is busy.

    1. The last one is the first three
    2. A perfect circle = the perfect square
    3. Home

The stars are in alignment, and half of me feels upside down.

I made a call out of the blue, and I got a busy signal.

    Figures. LOL.

    Continuing the hunt,

If I manage to locate the chest, I hope Mr. Fenn honors me with a visit that I might repay his kindness and generosity.

I'm assistant coroner here, and it WILL be listed as 'natural causes'.

    BWAHAHAHA!

Where I was training over 25 years ago, a former intern performed his first flexible sigmoidoscopy on a middle-aged woman.

Shortly after inserting the scope, he was supremely thrilled to have discovered a mass which he promptly biopsied.

The biopsy returned as 'normal cervix'.

He had entered the wrong orifice. He never recovered.

Somehow that 'busy signal' put me in mind of that unfortunate fellow....

This hunt has been extremely educational, if nothing else.

I've never heard of Bott's dots before. I had to ask my other mother about it.

    Continuing to hunt,

A long, sleepless night here in the hot, steamy city of Dallas.

My shortcomings were on full display yesterday.

    1. I brought my office manager and her kids to Dallas for a midsummer vacation along with my usual suspects. In the resulting confusion of herding cats, I forgot to inform her of dinner plans. Color me mortified.

    2. Working on the clues, I seem to have found a wad of directions including some for tables and golf balls and JD Salinger which left me reeling.

    3. My blood pressure wasn't good because taking the medication causes some unwanted side effects.

"If you're going through hell, keep going." Words of wisdom, and today is a new day.

    I'll try to do better.

Reporting from the Westin in Dallas on a hot, beautiful summer evening....

Today has been a good day.

I slept late; swam for a couple of hours. The avocados are in season, and Houston's makes the best guacamole I've had. Took this crew to see 'Star Trek' in the IMAX--which was great--and caught some pokemons at the mall.

Returned to the hotel, swam some more, and getting ready to take this bunch to Fleming's--they're hungry, and that's scary. Probably gonna have to go to the ATM twice.

A friend has 'politely' suggested that some issues at home are my fault.

As much physical pain as this causes me...

    He's right.

(That only took two margaritas and a half Xanax to say that, but yeah....)

The seeds are planted and appear to be bearing fruit--a family meeting is planned upon my return home, and all are looking forward to it.

On a different note, clues from the hunt managed to wake me up at 3am two nights ago. THREE AM--in the morning. Didn't sleep after that. How happy do you think that made me?

I started reading Mr. Fenn's book, and I put together a clue that deals with opposites. I was put in mind of Mysterious Stranger, and I thought of MS, so I knew S. M. was important as well.

Then it hit like a thunderbolt.

The writing style, the content--STEPHENIE MEYER!

Mr. Fenn is probably on Team Jacob.

    Doc

PS--Be glad that wasn't me holding your Heath Ledger-self over the side of that building. Wouldn't be no 'rising' going on after that. End of franchise time.

PPS--Pushing buttons? The main button I'm hunting for right now is the 'Execute' button. Don't worry if I'll press it or not--I plan on mashing that thing 4 -5 times to make damn sure it works.
