    Astree,

I completely missed out on the overall meaning of the hot tub phrase the first time around. Cuz I'm very slow and very dumb.

I'm aware that whatever stress I might feel is possibly reflected and magnified at the other end from being forced to act in a manner incongruous with their original intention and desire. Wayward children.

It's my fault--it's just my nature to share. I realize now I can't do that with any of this.

PS--Even when negative, I'm still poleaxed at how much is crammed into so little. That's no sleight-of-hand or illusion--that's REAL magic, and I'll never comprehend the sorcery.

Because that "hot tub tuna casserole" was posted a week before your comment about it? In any event, no problemo. Your posts are fascinating, and present great info, and new ways of examining much of the puzzle.

Hope all is well in LA.

Everything is superb here in the big city of Shreveport!

Waiting for the rest of this bunch to arise from the dead to eat lunch.

One of my tribe was informed he's been granted an interview for medical school next week, so this will now become a celebration in addition to vacation.

Many are the pleasures of the simple-minded,

I was awake at 4am, and I started thinking about the hunt and the puzzles. Random thoughts:

    1. 'Too many cooks spoil the broth.'
    2. If one is at the end of one's rope, is that a Hanged Man, a lasso, or both?
    3. What noise is made at the end?

    Etc.

In other words, I'm lying awake obsessed with solving puzzles.

Unfortunate conclusion: I'm no better than a crack addict waiting for his next hit.

    Stupid catnip.

PS--Packing the bags and transferring to Dallas today. Had supper last night with my brother and his wife at a new restaurant for me--Chianti--and we'll be returning. No discussion of the treasure hunt--they're not fans--but we introduced them to Pokemon Go. They're not fans of that either as it turns out. LOL.

Supper tonight at Del Frisco's Double Eagle--we'll be shutting them down. Their last day of operation is tomorrow before relocation.

    Guys,

I apologize for being off course and derailing this topic. Northeastern Louisiana isn't a hotbed for treasure hunters, and I get carried away with the personal stuff.

Few things are sadder than a comedian who thinks he's funny, but isn't.

No more random musings--a bad attempt at both humor and inference.

Strictly hunt-related postings henceforth, and starting over with the poem,

    Doc

I wonder if WWWH is a glacier, so we arent suppose to physically be at the glacier, just use its name as abway of recognizing a resulting river or creek that gets fed by its runoff.

I've been struggling with the poem--struggling to find the right words--where to start, how to move forward in the puzzle.

Role reversal: Today is Mr. Fenn's birthday, and he's the one who gave us a present, and all I manage is giving disappointment in return with wrong answers.

I try to make the right moves but what I consider to be right appears to be so dreadfully wrong.

The poem feels like previous puzzles I've worked on that had a glaringly easy, obvious answer that everyone understood but me.

I very much want to help move things closer--not make them further apart--I don't want to say or do anything wrong anymore. Disappointing people we care about puts me in a pit of despair.
