a day late and a dollar short.....

just got wind of this today as my wife is an avid Today Show watcher....

we were in Santa Fe/Albuquerque last summer for about 3-4 days...could have taken a run into the mountains north of SF just for the "thrill of the chase"

bringing back Treasure Trove search days...lol

Well, this Chase woke lizardlips up. But I think this one is going to take some sturdy hiking shoes!

not sure about that liz...the author claims an 80 year old man got there with no problem, and that he can go back just as easily

perhaps he drives a Jeep Wrangler Rubicon...lol

Apparently there is a portion of a road trip from where the start of the poem suggests, because the other threads refer to his stating that he "walked back to his car after placing the box". Also, the poem itself says the distance is too far to walk.

A friend of mine told me about this from the Today show, and it looks fun.

    wvtrovergirl,

I really like the Brave/Wood/Title connection you made earlier in this thread. Have you considered the 'title' isn't the title of the book, but the title of that painting, 'Autumn Sunset'?

This may be the 'blaze' you're supposed to find at the end of the hunt. If you're standing in the correct spot, an 'autumn sunset' will somehow point to the location?

Just throwing an idea out there.

This hunt looks way easier than TCWAF or The Secret.

I'm buyin tickets to get me where it is bound to be. I don't have the book yet tho...so I might be getting ahead of myself.

I see the lines working in order, first line to the last.

'Not far, but too far to walk'

    1. Literal translation--won't be able to walk to the next location
    2. Play on words: 'not far' = nearby. The next 'too far' might be a reference to the movie, 'A BRIDGE Too Far'. In other words, the next location would be a nearby bridge.

This was my first impression also, so I'd been leaning this way too.
