Thanks for posting the links maskit.

I decided to order the book. I hope some other twelevers will too!

I received my book. Unfortunately, it was not wrapped very well. It came in a lightly-padded brown wrapper, and my mail carrier just shoved it into my standard size mailbox, so the book got all bent up, and cracked at the spine. It would have been nicer if they mailed it in a box of some sort, or stamped it with "Do Not Bend". Especially after you put out $40.00 for it.

The beginning of the book tells a story. Then following the story, it appears that each section has some text and some art. The text asks a question or questions that involve finding out the answer by doing some research on the War of 1812 or events surrounding the war. So far, from what I have done, the answers have always been numbers, like how many of something, or a date or dates. Then you may have to add the numbers together, and subtract numbers from that.... As for the artwork, there are sayings around the art, and some of the letters are colored. You can take the different colored letters and unscramble them to make new words. At the end of the book is one full page with a cipher.

I am not sure how everything will come together yet.

It seems to be put together very well.

Is there anyone else working on this?

I just received my book today and I can't wait to get started.
Does anyone know how many attempts one gets at the answer? I did read through both the information in the book and the website, but don't see this information listed anywhere. I obviously don't have an answer yet, but I'd like to be prepared just in case
Also, I have to agree with the comment about the envelope the book was mailed in. Mine came with the wrapper ripped on one side and the book bent. For the cost of shipping, it could have been wrapped considerably better. The book itself is very well made though, and the artwork is beautiful.

Mine too. It was ripped and the stuffing falling out. Book artwork is great.

We have this same question. I think GB was going to submit an enquiry to the contact link. From what I am surmising, you get unlimited tries if it doesnt specify it.

Thanks! I would guess that it is unlimited, but don't want to disqualify myself if I am assuming wrong. Please let us know if you get a response.

I did ask if you are allowed to submit more than one solution.

I also commented that for some of the answers that involve dates, it doesn't seem to be exactlly clear as to what they want. For some of the puzzles, they give you a very specific formula for your answer, such as d/m/y. Then in another puzzle, they will ask you for the date when some event happened, but they do not specify the format. Are we to use d/m/y as in other puzzles? Or if it just says "date" and there is no formula provided, does that just mean the day only? (Not the month and the year.)

I am waiting for a reply. If I get an answer, I will return here to share what they have said.
