I also believe that the stone is in west virginia-After all, Charles Elwood Yeager hails from there-(if you caught it)

I tried smooshing around with the family name, thinking it was either an anagram or just another word that means the same thing (homonym?), but didn't come up with much. The garage in the tale reminds me of my parents' garage, though. XD[/QUOTE]

Did you research the family name like you did the blasting cap crate? Furse is a Devon surname, and Devon just happens to have a 'football' team, as well as a tie to a certain state in the US. Coincidence? I think not, but that and 25 cents may just get me a cup of coffee......

    Quest On!!

I thought I'd check in to the forum and see how everybody was doing. I'm glad to see there are actually people out there working on the first CustardQuest (while I'm working on more CustardQuests). The one point I understand is the low reward money involved vs. the distance one might have to travel to find the stone. I wish I had more money to give away for each one. Hopefully, in the future, I will.

As I mentioned above, more CustardQuests are in various stages of completion. If CQI is not solved in another couple of months, CQII will be released, and maybe a clue or two for CQI. Whatever is next, though, rest assured that Twelevers will be the first to know.

I appreciate everybody working on CQI.

    Sincerely,

    Custard Marks

Thank you! I'm sure if someone comes up with what they believe to be the concrete location (I'm leaning towards Virginia rather than West Virginia), if a trip isn't in the works, they'll reach out to relatives either living or planning vacations in the area, geocache questers looking for another find (provided someone has locked in the Lat/Lon coordinates), etc. This first one has been fun, challenging, and quite appreciated.

Keep up the great effort and I'm sure your following will grow!

Hi all--I have been playing with this and have come up with some ideas which, are probable way off,but will share anyway-I believe the stone is in west virginia or in the east and i will not go for it, so i will tell you my thoughts.-first,I noticed the the phrase"made (Chucky eager) to sooth his throat" is Chuck Yeager, who is from Myra West Virginia-second,is that a dog can get sick from chocolate from the ingrediant called "Theobromine",which if you spread it out is "The-obro-mine" of which the story involves chucky the miner-I have played around with this and have come close to a w/v mine but nothing concrete-third,-the words "Crooked Tree" on will and wendys farm have the first letters capatilized--I only come up with a golf course and a coffee house on this--this is about it except for a few oddities-I hope someone is smarter and has the answer soon,I am looking forward to the solution

    I have a few questions:

Is this in a public place?

Do you have to pay for admission to this place?

Do you know for sure if the rock is still there?

I too, believe it is in West Virginia. I live in Pennsylvania, and although it would not be too far for me to go, it would be like looking for a needle in a haystack if I did not know the exact location. There certainly are clues that lead you to WV, and to certain places. But I think perhaps the places may be generic for WV, and not specific for that particular place. I have found strong clues to three cities. But one set of these clues is more sports-related, and I believe them to be leading us to the state, and not that city. (That is if I am interpreting things correctly, of course!) The other two sets of clues seem to have strong ties to two different cities, both of them having pros and cons for why the rock would/should be there. I can not find anything that is very specific, or that would lead me to a particular spot or area, or even to some kind of landmark. Without that, there is no use in travelling. I am sure the numbers must play into this in some way, but I have yet to find any connections. I wish I could, as that might be the key.

I feel the same way I think the "clues" are vague, for me anyway, gettin so I don,t want to read the story anymore as I keep imagining clues-you are right tho , all the numbers are there for a reason--think I'll wait for Custer to put out a hint. If I do come up with something concrete,I will share.
