    flutterby (love that name!)

I just finished playing your "composition" for my 6th grade music class...

they thought I was insane when I asked them if it sounded like anything.
(But they know that I teach and think "out-of-the-box")

Analytically, some of the notes were dissonant (not pleasing to our musical senses) and without a rhythmic pattern I could only guess as to note lengths...

My personal take on hidden music on ATT is that MS probably would not be able to hide anything "in depth" , i.e., a Beethoven symphony. Other posters have talked about "Twinkle Twinkle", Itsy Bitsy Spider" , etc. In other words a children's simple pentatonic rhyme song.

I also have a hunch that he may have hidden directions in his text and illustrations that cue us to the text of a classsical piece, say a Wagnerian opera or such, in a Beale-cipher like method. I am searching some leads on this.

Anyway, an "A" for effort, but in the words of Simon Cowell, "Ghastly!"

I tried it too. Really hard to just try and guess at the timing. That's the killer. Notes are notes....but HOW they are played and in what time is the trick. 4/4 , 3/4 ,,,,,, ??

Shoot. Believe me, I wanted it to sound like something.

    Default Music notes and colors

I found a web site that discusses correlations between music notes and colors.

    http://home.comcast.net/~sean.day/art-history.htm

Here is one theory (there are several). I was drawn to it because of the inclusion of black.

    An ancient Persian scheme:

    B rose
    A green
    G bright blue
    F black
    E yellow
    D violet
    C blue-black
