    Default composite on 112

As has been stated many times fairies throughout the book are cut and pasted all over the place either as an easy way for the artist to populate pages, or as a method of linking the pages.

My question is: if the artist is going to cut and paste, why bother changing the piece being copied at all (except for mirroring or scaling which is easy)? Look at the fairy in yellow towards the bottom of 112 with the 6 yellow flowers in her hair. I could only find her one other place in the book--pg 76. However, she is not a straight cut and paste. Her right arm has been rotated. It's the same arm, it's just been moved. Why? Is what she points to important? Is she telling time? This seems to me to be important somehow. Why bother altering her at all if he was just trying to populate the page?

It was probably altered just so it didn't look like a cut-paste job.

But most of the fairies are just cut and paste. Why change this one?

    Why not?
I don't see any significance to one fairy out of all the ones in the book being different. There are a lot of places in the art of this book that are really slapped together as if a committee had done it. It's just one of those types of things, IMO. Unless there's going to be a pop quiz on how many fairies are different, but not different, I wouldn't worry about it. But that's just me.

The right hand of the fairy in the yellow dress on page 112 would be on the vertical line extended from Spider to the bottom of the page.

interersting Knocka. another thing is that the arm has gone from the 12 o'clock position to the 5 o'clock position. 5 o'clock again... like on pg 41.

That's interesting, I hadn't looked at that fairy at all before. The line with Spider hanging from it is just like a plumb bob. At least I think it really looks like one. And the plumb bob on p.41 points to 5:00 too (if you think of it as a clock).

Remember in ATT the plumb bob on the tool page was also next to the Spider (just on the other side of the page, in the line of knots). What do you think about the duplicate of this Spider "plumb bob" on p.61? (I think p.61 is supposed to be "special" somehow because it's the only page with a sun/moon at the top that has no acorn page number.) And p.61 has the same Yorah face that's right next to the plumb bob on p.41.

I wonder what's going on with the plumb bob and "12"? 12 tools on p.41, an it's midday, 12 p.m...12 Creatures on on p.61, 12 Creatures on p.112? On a clock the plumb line would be on 12 (and 6). I wonder if the time on p.112 is around noon?

A plumb bob is used to set up the North/South axis on a sundial, what is called the "Noon Point". Maybe this also has something to do with North/South/East/West directionals? Yorah faces West on pp.41 and 61. And JMSCHUT has brought out that "s-t-e-w" = "West".
