Default Possible directions...there are thirteen, near the overlook

Ok, rather than look at these as part of the poem, I think might need to take into consideration what pages they are on, and that they are directions for that particular puzzle.

So, for instance, There are 13 (page 77), might not refer to crystal pook, but rather, when you get to ----- there are thirteen ---- trees, rocks whatever, and then there is another instructional line after that. Or perhaps they are clues to the text. Are there 13 of something somewhere?

Now, working with that, Near the overlook (pg 31)could be read in combo with "13" but it may also be "near the overlook..." and something else to follow. (I know this part has been talked about, but felt it should be here too) Apply this to the text. What is near the overlook in the book?

This may also apply for Find the tree's hole (page 63).

I'm throwing this out as another way to read it. It's all kind-of been discussed, but I thought a thread for discussion on the extra lines might be appropriate.

    Cabunk,

I like it.. We really need to start thinking outside the box... Now overlook, What would an overlook mean to most of us? To me it would mean the edge of something.. Maybe like a cliff in a park.. But we are dealing with a book with pages for now.. the only thing I can think of that applys NEAR THE OVERLOOK to in this book.. Again I go back to page 19 ... Right side of picture.. what do we see near the edge of the picture? Perhaps a PLUMB LINE... ? Denise (aka Jack out of the Box)

I too have been puzzling over this line, and a couple interpretations I've thought of, albeit with no reward yet, are:

    1. near the (c)over look

Obviously, there is no "c" in the poem, and I certainly haven't found anything "near the cover" that would suggest this has any merit, but still, I wouldn't be surprised if lines of the poem are meant to be more suggestive than literal

    2. I've been thinking about the word "overlook" as a verb and it seems that many of the hints in this book are easy to overlook. of course, "near the overlook" implies that overlook is a noun, but still...

just trying to think outside the box a bit

on page 31, it appears that there is a little bit of code left after "Near the Overlook". I'm new to morse code, so feel free to re-check it, but from what I could tell it is: ..-.- I couldn't find any meaning to this though. Your thoughts?

i won't be too rude since this is your first post and all but perhaps you should read the other threads before you pose what you think are new questions...

does anyone notice that "near the overlook" can anagram to "knothole above ear" ? If you go to page 16 "below sky and above earth be" could end up being "below sky and above ear T H (treasure hunt) be"
Am I reaching for something not there? OK probably!!

Default Why do you guys think the pages say "near the overlook&

Why do you guys think the pages say "near the overlook?" It says something completely different if you read correctly ALL the letters. Search for the poem on the forums, this is old news.

See People Magazine this week. MS shows the crystal Pook and says that there is a clue for the crystal Pook on page 77. It could have other meanings I suppose...
