    Default Have you seen Pook?

This has probably been discussed before, but where is Pook's map and "directions" through his grid? I've just tagged all my pairs of insects in my book, and notice that Pook is mysteriously absent.

So where is Pook? Well, he's on page 19 (tools & a dandelion), page 31 (ladybug page), 36 (fairies, dandelion, acorns, colored leaves), 44 (dragonfly page), 62 (black&white), 72 (his wings, lines in wings), 93 (crystallized), and 101 (Ana, Zac, Yorah, windows, bug pairs, dandelion, fairies).

I think it's safe to rule out 31 and 44, as they were used to locate two other tokens. Here is my analysis of the rest:

19: Colored leaves bottom lhs, one marked 3 2 2. Note that these leaves match page 36 exactly. Plenty of other speculation about the tools, et al.

36: Tied to 19 via the leaves and acorns. Pay attention to fairy fingers. Note the dandelion (I think all the dandelions are part of the Pook solution). Fairy expressions are quantifiable (smiling, straight, etc.).

62: This page has screamed "map" or "landscape" at me since the first day I opened the book. There's just something odd about the picture.

72: Some type of dash/number code with the lines in his wings? Who knows?

93: Some very 5x5 about this page, the way he's all divided up into triangles and squares. Quantifiable colors as well.

101: Lot of discussion on this page, but not linking it to Pook. Although 62 says "map" to me, this is the only Pook page with a pointing fairy. Although not pointing to a line in a dropcap map (like the others), the edge of the leaf he's pointing to has a very distinct shape. In fact all of the leaves in the bottom 1/4 of the picture have distinct edges with protrusions. I think this is the Pook map page. Some tie into the dandelions is here as well.

Feel free to analyze and add your thoughts, or point me to similar discussions.

    Default Where is Pook?

Pook was not hidden in the forest like the jewels, however he does live in the Great Forest with Zac and Ana. He lives in Yorah and that is where he returned. I believe if you find Yorah, you will find Pook. I'm sure there are others not mentioned here but some of the things we know about Yorah are:
She's a large old oak - a Grandmother of other trees.
She is at least 200 years old.
She calls everyone "sweetie an dearie" , maybe a Southern gal.
She can't see very well - possibly another reference to the Helen Keller tree?
She may have a treehouse in her branches? Maybe one of Frank Lloyd Wright's houses?

    Default Pook pages

I haven't seen anybody mention Pook on page 22. He's there, though.

On page 22 on the left hand side he appears as an outline. Look at the "U" in "around" and on either side of it you will see his cute little Pook ears. His nose is up-turned. And his portly little body is under his head. It's a hidden Pook.

Hmmm...I know all about negative space, but that honestly just looks like it was unintentional. You may be right though. Who knows.

I can see what you're saying, but it looks weak. Ears not quite right, and no obvious wings.

Then again, the one on page 78 isn't much better.

    Pook? Where are you?!!

    Default outline Pook

I agree that it isn't the most obvious thing on the page. I guess that's why it's called a puzzle. It would be so much easier if MS would just simply tell us where the tokens are so we can all just go get them. I wonder why he's being so secretive about this whole thing.

This is very true, but Zac and Ana left him in front of Rusful's Cavern (ungreatful wretches) when he was transformed.

My personal beliefe is that we will find him somewhere like that. I agree the black and white phone sure does looke like a landscape, a mountain with a bridge (paw) crossing the stream (dark line) perhaps?
