Default P.93-Pook on stage with familiar quote below.

Back in January/Feb I posted this insight, but on another site. Didn't see it anywhere here and am hoping someone can recall information I still haven't found. On page 93, the caption reads, "timid in life, he would forever look brave in death"....I've READ that before and was backed up by an English teacher recently. But neither of us remember WHERE. I thought it was the play Sunset Blvd...but apparently I was incorrect. Pook looks like he is standing on a stage. See the lights and curtains? I've reread every play and biography I can think of.....and nothing came up. All I remember is it was written about a man. I've even looked up tombstones, everything. Perhaps someone on Tweleve.org will remember. Also the shadowed leaves in the lower right almost match the leaves on page 39........cheers from Oregon.--Sabrina

"why so brave a man in thought should be so timid in life; how strangely he was venerable and laughable at one and the same time."
Virginia Woolf in To the Lighthouse seems to be paraphasing some classic we're supposed to be familiar with.

What about Greek/Roman mythology or children's books? Does this ring a bell with anyone? That is my next avenue....

Oh, gawd if you know please end my misery and tell me which fallen hero/person, whatever...seriously I can hardly stand wondering where I read it. You can email me at josasoma@yahoo.com if you don't want to post it here. And if it leads to Pook, don't worry, I am not running out to grab him...I obviously don't deserve him if I can't remember a simple quotation.--Sabrina

I'm sorry for the tease...I just thought(there I go again thinking) it is referring to ALL fallen soldiers not one in particular. Thats all. I know nothing about it being a certain quote.... Thats all, sorry. Shaggy

I can usually find the source of these quotes from a google search but I see nothing for this.

I also have to coplement Shaggy's Akita picture. I love Akitas. I have one.

I tried searching for the quote, too - no luck. Sorry!

Hey there Shaggy! Nice to see you over here! That Akita avatar is a bit scary though. My friend's Akita bit my German Shepherd when he was a puppy and Remo (my Shepherd) has been the biggest sissified wuss-dog ever since. Aw well, nothing like a 100lb. lap dog.

    Default Pook in NY?

I know the race is on and I've been on this site as long as most and we've shared information from the get-go. This is only a hunch, but I will share my research on where I "think" Pook could be if someone wants to experience a "hunt". Thank's to Calvin's post about the ladybug, I was able to go on a hunt, and it was a wonderful experience.

I'll share with anyone within NY City limits, plus you have to be willing to take a child. E-mail me.
