Smile And, in the interest of saying it was solvable . . .

The answer for at least one way to claim either a red or a yellow ring (or both) was in the Preface. Yes, anagrams were involved, and the message was quite straight forward.

Look for words with double letters. Take that letter once, along with the letters on either side. Punctuation marks put bounds the possibilities so they don't get too outlandish. It starts with a verifying quote. Ends by telling you who to call.

There were other anagram methods too, but I will leave people with that one spoiler for now.

There are other ways to win, of course, and some wonderful red herrings, so I still drag out the book from time to time to compare it with other hunts past and present. Plus, knowing what a Sun/Moon code might be turned out to be extra helpful elsewhere.

I'm having a hard time anagraming anything from the double letters in the preface. A few words here and there but I don't see how the punctuation helps at all.

There are 6 instances where the word ends with a double letter. Did you take the first letter from the following word or did you ignore those words altogether?

Also, the word "book" appears 6 times-and the word "look"-3 times. That's 9 letter K's. I can't imagine any quote that would have 9 K's in it...?

I did, however, find one fitting anagram from paragraph 7. The letters were ELIBOKBOKDEM which anagrams to: BOOK BILKED ME.

Not sure that anyone is still working on this- I'm not even myself-just thought I'd give your method a try. Can you elaborate a bit more on the verifying quote that you found?
    Thanks-N

So...I'm still having a hard time finding anything solid with this but there may be something to it. I didn't quite get the same as you did(or do it quite the same way-?)

The letters that I got from the very first sentence are: ISTMEI which,of course, anagrams to IS TIME or TIME IS. (This was too coincidental for me to ignore).

The letters from the next sentence ( NOT including double letters from the same word) were:ITENAN. This is where it gets tricky. I noticed the first two letters :IT right away-which goes with TIME IS (IT), but that leaves ENAN-

There are other words if you include the double letters within a word such as :TIME IS- WASTED ONLINE which is from the first and second sentences.

    Anyway-it's interesting...

I'll keep plugging when I have the time.

    Default still lookind...

Gothic circular windows in the shape of a rose are commonly seen as stained glass in giant cathedrals. However, alchemists see the beautiful dodecahedron as a symbol that is connected to the ether (or enlightened fifth element that all alchemists were attempting to achieve). Looking at the windows was thought to have a transformational effect on the viewer that carried them into an altered state of perception.
