Greetings from the Bayou State of Louisiana!

Thanks to this forum, I ordered the books, and they arrived yesterday. I solved the 20 questions of chapter 1, and I haven't turned a page past that as yet.

The concept of the map is intriguing.

My first instinct is that the clues for the map are the solutions to the 20 questions.

    For instance, (EDITED OUT)

    Something along these lines.

Has this been discussed or attempted?

    Hey Doc!!!

It's good to see you've joined us - I look forward to your geographically-oriented updates

So far there hasn't been much discussion on key sequences for a few reasons (I'm guessing of course).

First, I think everyone is fairly interested in finishing all of the questions first, especially since the odds of discovering a clue to the key sequence goes up (I would guess) with each chapter you finish.

Second, there has been some discussion about how much information we're allowed to post about answers in general, and specifically about the key sequence (the author has even posted about it I believe). It looks like any posting of the method to crack the key sequence could very well invalidate the entire hunt, so we're all being fairly conservative about what we post concerning the key sequence.

Third, I think it's early enough on that everyone is keeping ideas about the key sequence close to the vest in general. Once we've all tried for a while (and presumably failed), then I would expect some hesitant information/idea sharing. Since the hunt is only about a month old, I don't think we're there yet.

    Cheers!
    Steve

Um, you do know that you aren't supposed to post answers, right?

    Hi,
You have 'spoilers' contained in your above post. Your not supposed to post answers only hints or thoughts, you may want to remove them and just use the words 'the answers to 1,2,and 3' or reword it somehow.

It's a theory though.....I havent really focussed on the order of any keys yet though my eyes are open and I have little notes made. I thought the order of the keys maybe 'hidden' throughout the book and not self-contained within each chapter.

Hey Doc - Hello again and welcome to the hunt !

I've focused on getting through all the questions first, before coming back to look for key order as well. You definately learn about how the author "does things" by progressing through the chapters. I thought after having all that learning it might be easier to find the clues for the key order.

As Steve said, you want to be careful about posting information about ideas for key ordereing. While the author seems to encourage everyone collaborting on answering the questions, anything past that you should be careful about.

You also don't want to post answers to questions directly. Hints/clues are ok. There was an indivdual that recenlty joined the board and decided to post the all the answers for the first 3 chapters in a message. While many already knew those answers, the point was no directly posting the answers. The individual got booted, the posts were deleted, and the author asked for their email address to deal with...

    Yikes!

I enjoy the free exchange of IDEAS, not necessarily answers, but I completely respect the wishes of this forum.

I'll go back in my corner and be quiet now....

    Hi Doc,

It's the rules of the hunt, not just the wishes of the forum. Do you want to edit your post or would you like me to do it?

I don't see a button to edit anything, so please feel free to edit whatever you wish.

Exactly what can be discussed without running afoul of anything?
