allo there,
I saw that you were struggling with the chapter six poem cipher as wellI was wondering, if you could give me a hint on this one? - I tried hundreds of possible "phrases" from the story... changed I into J, Q into R and U into V. nothings seems to work out.
greetings from austria, andrea

If you have the password for Chapter 6, but you don't know the poem - it sounds like you didn't get the password by deciphering the poem in the Chapter. Thus having the password itself doesn't help you
Look back through the posts for this Chapter. You will find a lot of good references that should point you in the right direction.
The poem in the book is listed in PAIRS of letters. There is reference to i/j vs. no Q. What cipher would that be?
There is even pointers to the keyword to use earlier in the Chapter forum as well.
If you haven't done so yet, the author's companion book "Cracking the Code" is a great tool for helping determine what ciphers you should be looking at and how to use them.
Thanks Boat, I know its playfair. I've been able to decipher Q14. but the poem just keeps coming up gibberish just frustrating, I guess thats all part of the fun though.
Switching the right letters will solve the poem.
6-14 is still killing me. I think I got the keyphrase, got the u/v help, don't know how to use the plaintext of the "Pirates" to reorder, it uses the same letter for different letters, pages and pages...help!
