## Day for maps checks?

Is everybody getting replies on tuesday lately? Do you have to wait if you submit correct answer? ..

2. To my understanding, the website itself does not check your answers live. The answers are checked "offline" which is why there is a delay. This protects the answers because they are NOT online anywhere on the website.

Answer response time varies. The response times do seem to be shorter recently, probably because of all the renewed interest.

3. I got my rejections for the past week or two yesterday.

Absolutely the biggest help to me at this point would be a change in the submission process. I know I have it cracked, but it's looking for a single, correct order and there can be several valid differences.

For instance, once you begin solving the map puzzles, the next set of keys after A T E are these:

J N S R I O

10, 14, 19, 18, 9, 15.

Those are three X's. J = X. IO = 10 = X. NSR = north/south/right = X.

Is the correct order as given? J N S R I O?

Or, do you rearrange them into a 1, 2, 3 sequence J IO NSR?

Those are both valid, but only one will be correct. Kinda like some of the questions in the chapters, but unfortunately, getting feedback only once a week is frustrating and somewhat demotivating.

There are a couple of these sorts of sequences in the map solution, so I keep trying different combinations until I hit on the correct one.

5. I suspect that either there is either some information that you're missing that explains how to order partial sequences, or your solution is wrong.

Lobster,

You made me stop and think, and you were exactly right--I missed something.

The clue was intrinsic in the answer itself. It's one of those first=last things.

You know the first three keys are ATE. These set of keys are equivalent to XXX. That's a Roman numeral puzzle for 1000---X times X times X.

1000 is binary for '8'. I was supposed to figure out these two things were equal. ATE = XXX.

The correct answer is JNSRIO--first, last, middle--1, 3, 2--which is exactly the way the puzzle presented it in the first place. I was overthinking it by trying to change it to 1, 2, 3.

To reinforce the answer, 1000 is also Roman numeral for M, which is '13'. The missing '2' at the end is equivalent to the 'IO' at the end of the sequence--binary for '2'.

The first 9 keys of Chapter 1 are A T E J N S R I O.

I've been submittting it A T E J I O N S R based on the 1, 2, 3 of the XXX.

Bah.

I'll have to look at the other parts I'm wondering about and see if there's an intrinsic clue in them as well.

Thanks,

Doc

7. Good luck with your submissions! I have a few submitted too, but they're pretty shaky. I've tried to reconstruct parts of the sequence using information that I'm not entirely sure are clues.
