I have it over one spot as well.

Has anyone else used an extremely simple method where the second to last number is 6?

Twice. I figured they were just messing with me when they told me I was "incorrect" the first time. |

Thanks for letting me know. I'm actually relieved...if that were the method, these eagles would all be gone in a week.

Yeah, thats the method I used, but it came back wrong, even though it seems the first 4 are correct right?

I thought such things a while ago. Then I realized...why would this puzzle be like that?...and discovered more clues in the story. I highly recommend looking hard for the keys in the story. Many people have just taken the first few keys for granted without figuring out where they are in the story... and they are in more than one place I am almost certain.

Care to give us an example of that?

The clues in the keys eventually help you learn the puzzle. Be suspicious about what doesn't belong. When you read, your spidey senses are probably right. You are looking for ABC 123 I II III first second last and similar. This much has been mentioned already as far as I can tell. Anything else that doesn't belong.. look carefully. I don't think I should give an example, but each time Ive re-read, I've found something else useful once you know what doesn't belong. Think of it this way... ask yourself.. why would the author write that?...or this is fishy?.. Things will start to pop out at you after a while.
