# Thread: New clue: sixth number

1. Please tell me that I don't have to watch that movie again. I remember him trying the letter "L" in that movie too. And he tried 1818 before going with 1876. Someone please send me a PM.

What I really REALLY want to know is this: Does Ron (or someone else) come up with clues that he knows can be interpreted in multiple ways? Or does he come up with clues that he thinks are total 'gimmes' and then just sits back in bewilderment as he watches us analyze, overanalyze, hyperanalyze, ad infinitum? If it's the latter, we must all be driving him crazy!

Lobster and I found three interpretations of that 6th key clue, and one of them supports the last sequence Lobster submitted, so we're sticking with it until he gets a yea/nay response back (tomorrow, hopefully!).

Lady Lobster,

I've been pondering along those same lines as well. I think it's going to be multiple ways, but the trick will be that the different ways might work together.

This sixth key clue is a good example. It's straightforward and devious at the same time, IMO.

There's most definitely an '8' in the sixth position of the map sequence. The clue pretty much flat-out tells us that. The deviousness comes from the fact that a '1' is sharing that space as well, and we don't figure that out until solving that clue in the 'multiple ways' you are describing.

I think the sixth position is '18'.

4. I also think it's 18.

If a player takes the straitforward position that the second number refers to the second "digit" then the obvious answer is 8. If a player takes the position that
1818 is the first "number" and 1876 is the second "number" how can that player then divide the second "number" into two parts? Isn't that a bit of a stretch?
If this is the way this game is constructed I can't wrap my head around it. Either it's 8....or.......how can it be anything but 8?

I recently gave a friend the first four numbers of the sequence and he came back to me two days later with all 20 numbers......said that there were 2 sequences going on in the numbers.......said that it wasn't random....................the 6th digit...........wait for it...................was EIGHT!

coincidence? submitted the sequence
