    Default Starting line

Intrigued by this clue. Starting line as in the first line in the story? Maybe 10 o' clock is significant afterall.
"Once upon a time" - timeless starting line for many a tale? Race starting line?? The place where we all begin?? Are any of them equal to the last? So many questions! Too few answers!
"We may not be first, but at least we are not last!" Meaner Simikkles RULE!

There are two horizontal lines in the chapter to denote what? scene changes?

The lines appear in almost every Chapter. There of course are exceptions.

Seems to help "divide" the story into parts.

In the first Chapter it create 3 parts. <insert favorite doc theory here about the three keys>

3 doesn't seem to fit "equal parts" to me though - so take a guess and pick a smaller number.

The horizontal lines are suspicious and may mean something, but both occur in the middle of the book. I can't think of a way to make either of them a "starting" line though.

"Starting line" = "beginning". Look in the first sentence.

I'm wondering if the "starting line" is referring to the only line of text in the story where the word 'starting' appears. It's hyphenated, but it starts on Page 12 Line 5 and continues on Line 6. I find it interesting, but meaningless to me, that it appears on Page 12. "12:00 high was just a little bit late" and "If you've reached the starting line you've gone to far" seem to be the same clue reworded if you use your imagination a little bit. Is there something on or before Page 12 that we're supposed to see?
