I believe that the Ghost of Cooper Past might simply be the Cooper's Hill poem, meaning that the omega key was part of the text in the poem.
Really surprising to see how people are sharing ideas as we all know that this chapter has been won.
I've got a lot to think about.
I'm positive the three keys are correct--it's too easy to carry the idea forward to subsequent chapters--but I had never considered the fact they may only be for the golden eagle solution. I've been chewing on that all afternoon since Lobster posted. The concept of the three keys revolves around 'X III', or '13', and that sounds awfully Golden Eagle-ish when I step back and look at it.
That means everything I did with chapter 1 was for the Golden Eagle! LOL!
How do we reconcile the omega key starting 'before what we know' and 'the old man in front of the cabin', and the 'ghost of Cooper past'?
Doc
PS--Today's freewheeling exchange of ideas is what tweleve is all about. Warms the cockles of my heart.![]()
That's why we are sharing! It has been won so there's no worry of giving the answer away
I'm having to readjust my thinking--please bear with me through the transition here. I'm going to be thinking out loud for a bit.
The Invisible Ink clue is still paramount. For the silver eagle puzzles, the blank would be completely ignored, meaning there are only two 'keys' for each chapter map puzzle, the 'alpha' key and the 'omega' key. The three keys of chapter 9 and their story would play no part here.
So, knowing what we know about the first ten keys, what might we deduce? How would we have 'known' this portion was correct?
The first is equal to the last.
Since we have a good idea what the first ten keys are, we have something that is related to being an iteration of FIRST and an iteration of TEN or X.
What might we deduce about the omega key? It has to be equivalent to something that is both LAST and FIRST. That may seem counterintuitive, but let's think about it for a second.
The STARTING LINE.
It's obviously something that is 'first', but if you consider it's the horizontal line at the bottom of page nine, it's also something that is LAST.
I'll think some more.
While Doc is scratching his brain, let me do my own brain-dump.
One thing to remember is that there are some clues that apply to all the chapters. The 2 Optic Cross clues and the 2 Invisible Ink clues. They should be enough to get you started thinking in the right direction. Lets forget about all the specific Ch 1 clues because they only applied to Ch1. Each chapter will be different with the exception of the common clues.
I'm on vacation without my book. Don't know how that happened. But I have been mentally applying these clues to what I remember in Ch2. Within these clues are the "directions" on getting started. Then it is just a matter of some focused thinking on where these directions lead you.
Since Ch1 has fallen, the next chapters should follow suit soon.......... Good luck to all.
