I find it hard to believe that so many have ceased trying to solve Chapter Two simply because of no further clues until possibly August. Louie, the cook, can lead us to what we are looking for. Bogie is still saying, "Here's looking at you kid." And if you look diligently enough and with the help of crispy bacon, the solution to the women's story and the Falcon can be found. The end could just be the beginning of a silver eagle and wonderful trip to San Francisco.

The red-haired, Greek, mentally ill pilot dreamed deeply as three shafts of neon light shone across each of her eyes. She had six fingers, a drug problem, liked Jimmy Buffet, and had recently worked on her golf swing. It was time to wake up. It was time.

She wiped her forehead with her arm, tanned from her recent south sea adventure. She opened her eyes and winked crossly as she stood erect, blood flowing into her extremities. She rotated out of the bed and crossed by her computer and web browser and yawned widely, waving her arms in a figure 8 pattern and clucking like a goose. Her spidery, flamingo-like, vulture like claw-shaped legs shuffled across the floor as she dealt her forehead a blow on the ratty, rock-cut crag that jutted out from beneath her bunker bed.

"AUch! she yelled. For the love of Adam! And Moses! And Shakespeare! And Sherlock! And Hitchcock!" she shouted confusedly as she looked behind her, over her shoulder, her head forming the letter omega as it compressed against the rocky outcropping. Her heart sunk, then rose, then dove, then flew, then went backwards, then reversed, then did loop-the-loops in the air (and fire and water and earth). She shook her head as a constellation popped into her mind like a pill, and made a clockwise anti-clockwise rotation with her neck.

"How poetic" she thought with mounting indigestion. "My father had been right about me after all."

Her red hair was a little smelly, from her previous herring fishing trip, as she coughed and laughed to herself, remembering how the third boat in the fleet had come unhitched from the cherokee and crossed the gravel, terribly splashing into the swirling eddies in the sea. Squarely, bogart and his wives had drowned in that accident, but the driver had just raised his hands with a shrug.

The echo of cooking noises floated down the spindly Vegas-style staircase and the smell of cheese and bacon hot dogs with chili and omega-3s wafted in from the kitchen where the cook spent his time winking and nodding and wiping his forehead. Her boyfriend, a man dressed as Caesar rotated cryptically around the house slowly, rearranging the furniture, tapping on the floor with his feet, and peering out the windows while waving his cane.

"BET YOU CAN'T SOLVE THESE CHAPTERS!" he shouted and cried and hooted like an owl, clawing wildly and uncharacteristically, his mental aptitude having gone downhill now for many years.

He gave one last bellow and then tipped his head and sank deeply into a deep slumber.

I think I've found almost everything in this chapter except for any semblance of rational directions indicating how the chapter is to be solved. I'm content that I have solved as much of this chapter that can actually be solved.

As a 4th of July treat, I share the following points to ponder over for Chapter Two:
If Alpha is considered "A", then is Omega considered "B"?
"We're already splitting whatever we find," Chip said.
Is the Maltese Falcon "A" container? And if IT is actually is a container, then what is inside?
Will Babs get IT or will one of us "get IT first?"
    Is IT a definite clue?
The first clue we received was a video of the Falcon turning in a clockwise direction. When I did this to my book, it created an equator.

I sold Doe Goose gold viol. What is a viol? How many strings does it have? How many words are in this clue? What letters does a bacon cipher decrypt to read? What page of the story should you concentrate on?

I sold Doe Goose gold viol: Here is my breakdown of this clue:
    1. Doe and Goose are feminine terms so it pertains to the women's story. 2.Doe and Goose are capitalized hinting that a bacon cipher will be used to decrypt.
    3. The women's story is done in reverse, therefore decrypt the clue in reverse. 4. Six words in the clue, maybe find something on the sixth page of the story.
Just remember where you are and what you are looking for. THE end is just THE beginning.
Not sure if anyone will even read this or respond, but I am not giving up and waiting for spoon-fed clues next month. I truely believe I am very close so a solve.

Still working on the rest, but viol is:
The viol (also known as the viola da gamba) is any one of a family of bowed, fretted and stringed musical instruments developed in the mid-late 15th century and used primarily in the Renaissance and Baroque periods. The viol family is related to and descends primarily from the Renaissance vihuela, a plucked instrument that preceded the guitar. Viols are different in several respects from instruments of the violin family.

This week's things to ponder for Chapter Two for those of us not waiting on further clues:
The end is just the beginning.
    First
Go back to San Francisco and get it
Baconian cipher is very important in solving chapter two
A thing like that only divides people and causes conflict.
in the end all either of us cared about was the Falcon itself

Those are all interesting excerpts, and the chapter is filled with other things that sound like instructions or hints or directions.

The problem is, there is no evidence that this stuff is related to a solution. In fact, looking back at chapter 1's solution, a lot of the interesting stuff in the chapter appears to have had no bearing whatsoever to the solution. There were even highly improbable coincidences in the articles that proved to be unused in the solution.

It would seem to me that starting with the extra facebook clues is probably the best place for us to start. At least we KNOW those are relevant, even if they are so ambiguous. This other stuff, the historical references, this directional stuff, the article references, and everything else is both ambiguous and not even guaranteed to be relevant. If we get a clue that tells us to pay attention to this stuff, it seems that only then should we.

Good observations as they related to the solve for Chapter One. Initially, there were only 2 clues in the optic cross, now there are 4 including 2 excerps for question 15. How much value do the extra 2 give us? And how much value were the optic cross clues for Chapter One?
