    Ditto Mr. Bookworm.
Whenever I have thought I had it, he/she brought me back to treasure hunt reality in that until you get that phone, you aint correct!
Everything in the chapters and in the clues has multiple meanings. I am no where even close now after friday's clue sent my sequence into a mushroom cloud.

Where have all the players gone? Many have left or are lurking in the shadows. Why is that? Other treasure hunts? Too much time invested on this one? Just waiting for the right chapter two clues?

I guess I am just waiting for the right Ch 2 clue. I am currently at a loss for how to go about getting the Ch2 solution. Every theory I have been working to so far has been rejected.

I was too lazy to scrounge up the second copy of the text for Chapter 2, so I decided to take a pass on this chapter. Still working towards the 240 club as I wait for the next chapter hunt to begin.

Kind of wish I didn't skip Chapter 2. The last two clues seemed kind of like obvious directions.
The true prize is the hunt itself.

He loves subtlety. He often says one thing, but if you look at it closely, he is really saying something different. But whatever he says needs to be taken literally.

I again feel I am close to the solution. I can explain how I interpretted each of the clues, and how the clues sent me in a particular direction. But alas, I've been there before...
To show what I mean about what I said above, I cite the following clue:
Sept 21st....Turn to the right “The answer to the ultimate question of life, the universe, and everything” turn to the left “the number of letters in the answer to question 8” to unlock the combination.

The obvious answer is not really the number Ron is trying to get us to get to. By a little lateral thinking, another answer is evident leading to what I think is a significant clue, validating other past clues. The trick is to think like Ron.....

A bunch of people are now working on that Camelot hunt I think. Lady Lobster's been having lots of fun with it. As for me, who knows. I have interpretations for most of the clues, in many cases 2 or 3 interpretations for a single clue. None of the recent clues have "broken" the piece that I'm most comfortable with. It's actually some of the earlier stuff that is more problematic, because it appears to conflict with everything else I've got. In particular, the "equality" of "halves" in this clue still makes no sense to me: * Our old friend "The first half is equal to the last half" is afoot again In all cases I've considered, I either don't HAVE "two halves" (of either the full 20 keys or of 'old friend'), or if I do squint my eyes and ignore some clues which may be red herrings so that I do see two halves, I don't get "equality" (of cipher, ciphertext direction, key direction, ciphertext parameters, etc) all at the same time. Shrug.

I would suggest that there are several recent clues pointing towards what we already know, or what was really tucked away deeper in previous clues...

It seems that this chapter is more complex than the first chapter to solve, but on a similar track... this probably means that the following chapters will be solved by similar means. By slowly drip feeding us clues, Ron is ensuring that this chapter is not solved too fast, and therefore the next couple of chapters are not solved too quick..

My thought is that the next few chapters will be solved a lot more rapidly, once we all know what train of thought Ron took in 'coding' the sequence... Ron wouldn't have known how long it was going to take to solve each chapter when he wrote the book, and probably only took only a handful of directions in hiding the answers. (After all, how many different ways are there to hide these sequences using the decyphering tools we have been given)

I think once he finds a buyer for the golden eagle (and hence reaches his target for money raised) we will get more relevant hints that lead us to answers faster!
    Someone buy the big fella!

I've been hiding in the woodwork since chapter 2 clues began to be handed to us, but I've had many different ideas about specific sequences.. it seems that the latest clues don't discount many of my sequences... theyre not straightforward or direct.. we'll probably keep getting these types of clues until the eagle is sold or someone stumbles upon a correct 'guess' of the keys we don't already know!

C'mon guys, lets solve this damn chapter already!!!

One thing I'd like to add... although these chapters appear to be incredibly difficult (I've already looked ahead in detail at C3), it *is* a lot of fun getting clues a couple of times a week, even if ultimately they leave us pulling our hair out. It's nice to have something to think about, even if that thinking is ultimately futile

All right - time to fess up! Who thinks they are the one with the first half of the sequence correct?
