Oh come on, utterlyconfused. This is so easy. "Bravo said Romeo as he headed to Quebec" implies that B is before R is before Q. Unless you take the clue literally, in which case Bravo is being said *on the way* to Quebec, in which case we get R before B before Q.

Note, however, that neither B nor R are anchored to any position (it could be BR...Q,B....R..,.......BRQ, etc), so we cannot locate them anywhere, and so B or R can be anywhere in the first 19 keys.

The new clue tells us that Juliet can replace Romeo, in which case we get J before B before Q or the literal interpretation B before J before Q. Since neither B nor J are anchored to absolute positioning and therefore we are unable to make any transitive conclusions, therefore J is before R or J is after R, and R is after J or J is after R, making J before or after B and R, R before or after J or B, B before or after J, and Q just laughing at them all.

So in other words, we now know *FOR SURE* that keys 2, 10, and 18 all somewhere in the first 19 keys.

    Hope that helps.

Sarcasm aside, no idea what this clue is referring to.

And here I thought that the clues would be getting a bit more helpful, the further we got into this chapter. The person with the first half of the sequence correct might have an advantage since he/she is dealing with unscrambling just a few letters. Unfortunately, how are you to know that you are the one to have the first half correct. I had thought I did, but it is only a 'pipe dream'.

If I think that my sequence is half right, but I really am wrong, and I leave the first 10 letters as is, and try to fit the clue to the remaining spaces, then I'm digging a deeper hole to jump in.

If I think that my sequence is not right, but I really am the right one, and I begin to make changes, then I'm also digging a deeper hole to jump in.

SCREWED either way........ That "half-right' clue really gummed up the works....... Not even sure which way to continue. Maybe I'll just start back to the beginning.

" That "half-right' clue really gummed up the works"

It sure did. By my interpretation, there are a lot of what appeared to be hints in the text, the website, the archives, and other hidden locations that hinted strongly that we were to look for 3 sequences in this chapter, not 2.
Clearly that is inconsistent with "half and half". Now, that's not saying there isn't any evidence for 2 sequences of 10 -- there actually is -- but I would argue that there's stronger evidence for 3 sequences.

No big deal -- I've also got a lot of 2-sequence theories too. Unfortunately, it does make it seem awfully pointless to try to solve these chapters by investigating the text, the website, the archives, Joyful locations, etc when it seems that any even minor conclusion gleamed from those sources is bound to be contradicted by an "extra bonus facebook clue" released years after the original content was.

I need more clarification on the half right. That mean the first ten keys are in order or the alpha sequence is correct but it must then be manipulated to get the final correct twenty keys

I suspect we'll get a clue one day soon that makes a lot of people say "WHAT THE HECK?!" Of course, I could be completely wrong...
Looks like I was right. Unfortunately, the complication is not precisely the complication I had expected, so I'm just as much "what the heck?" as everyone else. lol.

Good evening and Happy Thanksgiving to all those celebrating today (Canada, and maybe UK?). Future greetings to our American cousins for your Novemeber celebration.

My Eagle partner and I had a session today reviewing the clues since the beginning and we find ourselves in a similar position to our position of Chapter 1, being that the clues continue to be sufficiently vague such that they have the ability to be bent in any direction one might choose. Not all, but many of them.

So, we're looking for a little help and in return, offer a line of thinking that may put 2 clues in parallel with each other. Curious to see if anyone has made the same link.

The clue we need help on was released on or about March 26 and seemed like a columnar transposition. Doc responded not long after with a comment about Chivalry. Any help publicly or privately would be greatly appreciated.

In exchange, we are offering this observation to the group. We don't think it goes offside of the rules in that we are not giving away a known solution, but trying to help the group with alternative thinking. Apologies to all if it goes too far and please strike the post as needed. Here goes:

In a very early clue, Ron said (paraphrasing): Inroads for the Ch2 solution can be found in Ch1.

In a very recent clue, Ron said (paraphrasing): Clues are yielding results...

Does anyone see any merit in associating these 2 clues on the basis of their referencing to driving a car? (Roads, Yield)

That's all for tonight, may Thanksgiving bring a tasty turkey to the table, to accompany the eagle!
