Well, I warmed up the book again, and finished chapter three last night. Do we have any mention of alpha or omega keys for chapter three? I don't want to assume that is the case for this chapter unless it has been mentioned in clues. I figured out most of the hard parts of the facebook clues so far, but am stumped on the cipher type for the dec7 clue (probably the easy one). Toss me a bone?

My take so far is as follows:
-we will probably start somewhere in the middle this time working in circular fashion left or right from a starting point (sudoku clue)
-the hints dropped are pointing to groups of four. The letters won't just be read out of the text this time, they are encrypted (maybe anagram, maybe rotate)

As for the missing keys in chapter 1&2, I looked over my notes and I'm now considering these as the scratched out key. Those letter's in plaintext would have been too helpful for someone looking for a sequence. The sequence for this chapter appears to be encrypted, so I don't expect the same missing keys at the end of this chapter. If I knew what the cipher type was, however, you could probably make a well educated guess.

    A to Z 0 to 9 substitute for 9 to 0 Z to A

A substitution cipher, or more specifically a caesar shift that includes numbers as well. This is what I thought, but my tool doesn't do numbers and I haven't found one as of yet. Guess I'll keep looking or make one.

Anyone have any ideas on CH3 clues yet?
    November 9th... Always a “Secantroam”
I'm not buying sacramento just yet. Considering the nature of another clue, how about
    "Roman(s)eatC"?

Jan 4....Riddle me this and riddle me that: tlboon, eldfis, lemkim, woshall will be the key to pulling this one out of the hat.
If you ignore the anagram thoughts, and use another cipher, I get the first (or last) part as "skinthiselaM". It was just enough with the "elaM" backwards to grab my attention. Thoughts?

Thinking of your thought, aren't there Capital letters in the letters we used to get the poem for this chapter?

Assuming secantroam is an anagram for Sacramento.. seems plausible...I'm 50/50... have to think that one over for a while

How about working the secant to roam around the caps in the letters we used to find the poem?

    You're talking my language now.

I like the idea of 'always a capital', but bear in mind that may apply to the golden eagle stage portion of the game.

It's more likely to be an example of both first and last. I'll point out that Ca = 20 on the periodic table, with '20' representing something last in our game.

Or there is always the possibility of Secantroam=Second Rome=second half of the sequence is caesar ciphered
This one plays along with the last clue about the "Final Four" being found with a caesar shift.
If this is the case, then does that mean the first half of the sequence is found using an atbash cipher as in last friday's clue where "The final four" was done in a caesar cipher and the second part of the clue "can still be found" as an atbash?
Yet another question. If it is a caesar shift on the second part, what is the shift? His clues have all been different amounts of shift so far.
