    I concur, and I can admittedly say that I'm on the "junior" end of things. I have solved the 240, am working on the 13.5 and the 3D Sudoku, and am muddling through trying to find a way to crack Chapter Solutions.

    Amusing. Check under "clues" (where the treasure chest is) in FB.

    Well, let me clarify some of my overarching feelings.

    1. I think Ron has been honest all along, and genuine. He is obviously a brilliant cryptologist.
    2. I think Ron has a generous heart, as is obvious from the amount of work and investment he has made to raise money for a cause. Of all the Treasure Hunts out in our world, this one may be the most ambitious AND the most philanthropic.
    3. I think Ron is handling the Hunt in the best way possible, when viewed from his end of things.

    Having said those things, let me further clarify that my conern all along has been to discuss the mechanism involved for the finding of the chapter solutions, which Ron thinks we should be able to find (since he "fully expected C2 to be solved by now" back in March).

    Top of the Day on a morning with a hard frost here in the Deep South!

    I took an injection of Decadron yesterday evening--I'm gonna find every kid who came into my office and sneezed and coughed on me, gave me this mess and give every ONE of them a shot! --so I was awake some of the night, did some pondering, and came up with some ideas for the first clue of chapter 3.

    I think it's an anagram, and it has more than one step.

    SECANTROAM = SCENT AROMA

    This appears to be an iteration of our old friend "first = last" since SCENT = AROMA, but that just doesn't feel right, and it's not very helpful to boot.

    Anagram each side of the equation again retaining an equivalence between the two sides:

    TEN C'S = A 'M' OR 'A'

    The word 'Charlie' shows up WAY too often at the start of paragraphs in chapter 3: 30 times to be exact.

    In Roman numeral parlance, ten C's = 1000 or an 'M'. I'll be quite curious to see if ten C's wind up being connected to the 'A' or 'alpha' key as well.

    I'm terrible with ciphers, and the recently-posted Facebook clue appears as gibberish to me--I did the rotation portion--so I can't post any thoughts on that particular clue.

    There are some really good thoughts that were being bandied about earlier I wanted to respond to, but since they're not technically dealing with chapter 3 clues, I'm going to move them to a different thread to keep from derailing this one.

    Happy Weekend!

    Doc
