USS Minnesota #2, the second USS Minnesota according to wikipedia is USS Minnesota (BB-22)

Not sure what to think, at first it seems redundant to me, but who knows, it also seems contradicting.

    In previous clues...

The number 2 is important but at the same time make sure you don't double up on it.

    This clue has both, LOL

My thoughts are that we have lost our window of opportunity for chapter 4 to be solved before it gets blistering hot in Phoenix. Would not be surprised if the silver eagle hunt for chapter 4 is delayed until next fall.

also two well known types of guns... possible reference to the places in text where people were shot or shot at?

My thought is that there's no agreement even on how many keys we are looking for.

There is sufficient evidence from all of the clues to justify claims that there are 0, 1, 2, 3, or 4 keys that cannot be found in any of the text. We've got "2 on their own", we've got "*****Q" hinting at 1 key unfindable, we've got 3 stragglers (optic cross), we've got evidence to suggest all 20 keys are there. If there are 3 stragglers, then maybe the final 3 can be found but are late, so all keys can be found. Or it means 3 keys cannot be found in any text. But if the final 3 letters are straggling, can some of them exist and some of them not exist? Surely something that's late and something that doesn't exist arent grouped together as "stragglers"? So therefore 3 stragglers refers to keys 14,15,16 or 15,16,17 or 16,17,18 or 17,18,19? But then they're not the final keys, which makes no sense, which means they must be 18,19,20 which means all 20 keys can be found? But wait... there is also good evidence for 4 keys not being in any text (riddle me this echo to C3/?OBKR) Etc etc etc..

So here I find myself, one year into a chapter, with silver eagle instructions that say I need to find 20 keys to win, and I'm not even sure how many keys I'm looking for.

    Those are my thoughts.

How would you get such an interpretation to be consistent with "don't double up"? These concepts are by definition doubling up.

Don't double up may mean to find a couple/partner/husband and wife and go forward, then backward with your starting points in between them. For BB22 you would start going right with 22 then when you go backwards, start with BB and do not include 22.
I am, as well as many others, at a total loss on this easier than you think puzzle.
