Im not sure why people are hell bent at starting at the Needle. Yes, I know its in the story, but not one clue mentions the needle nor hints toward it.

So many clues directly tell us to focus on the questions. People need to spend their time there.

"We need TO START at the Needle"
Clue: "TO START skip over then go back
Since there is nothing before page 72, it like Guttom says (and I very much like Guttom) is just a way of saying everything before that may be irrelevant.
Something is not clear. Using atbash and skipping 2 has been brute force checked with no solution.

Sort of agree with this one.

If you're going to take "start at the needle" as an instruction, then to remain logically consistent you had better be using "every third step" as an instruction, as this was also described in the story and is very specific sounding.

But since 2s (and not 3s) appear to be the focus of this chapter, it would appear that "every third step" is meaningless.

Therefore by logical equivalence, there is zero evidence that anything at all that happens in the chapter itself has any relevance. That doesn't mean that there ISN'T stuff in the chapter that is useful -- but it is utterly impossible to know what is and what is not useful/useless.

If each chapter gets progressively more difficult and we are 14 months of extra clues into this chapter, then how long will it take to solve the latter chapters? And I sense frustration from the author that that chapter has not yet been solved. Since it is too hot to do the silver eagle hunt in Phoenix until fall, there is no sense of urgency to release new clues until then. If the answer to chapter 4 is easier than you or I think, then hopes of solving a future chapter is futile.
    Island Treasure launches April 30th.

I have focused on questions from Mick in the chapter and questions from the author at the end of the chapter with no success. The only questions that make sense toward a solve are the end if chapter ones that point toward using a playfair cipher. But that would be no simple cipher to use as the clues suggest.
Something is not lining up. It is either not atbash or not every second letter.

You can go over on this one. Well, we already know we have to go over into Navajo for part of the solution. And we know we go over the A thru T to get the solution. So what else? What may we be missing? Going over into the questions?

Unfortunately, I am completely out of ideas. Got my rejections the other day. If there are no new clues, sadly Im going to have to wait til Chapter 5.

Good luck everyone, Ill be back if new clues come out.

In this chapter "every one" counts with a little help. Another example of trying to anagram what is in quotes yields nothing. Those that believe "the evens" yields "e seventh" or "the seven" may want to rethink that rule.

Playfair could be eliminated 'cuz the companion book listed it as "Other type of cipher", not "Substitution Cipher". I'm leaning over the Beaufort, since it's "2" and it's backward of the V cipher. But not sure, at this time we need to try anything, I guess.
