# Thread: CHAPTER 4 - discussion and clues

1. Gizmo is correct. A caesar shift like in the latest clue is either a shift +12 or a shift -14. Funny that the shift is minus 14 for a clue pointing at the 14th question. We must start at the Needle is on page 72 which is why nothing before that will help us. It does not mean that the sequence is started on that page. But that key start point being the Needle=N=14 is necessary to include page 72 in finding the sequence.

I don't believe the needle from the chapter has to do with anything. 14 could be the first key, i'm leaning that way. Page 72 doesn't even have two questions, so why would we start there?!

BB-22.. I've completely figured that one out (i think). It's easy...line 22, but not an even word, so just an idea of where to look.

So, if we must find all 26, and there is a cipher like a shift, then you still have to find all the same letters, even if they are rare. Not if the shift is different for both parts though. You will have to be twice as lucky...

New clue is released! I am quite certain I am one of the four. I submitted that sequence a few weeks ago.

Now we have a song clue, does the fat lady sing? Or did she sing early this week? I'm 80 hours behind. Mine submitted yesterday morning. Tick tock ... tick tock.

5. I find it rather funny that 4 people have the first half correct and the new clues is for one of the keys in the first half. Trying to extend this chapter or trying to let everyone catch up before an omega clue is released? Still think two is important? One, two...three, four....etc. i thought the number of the chapter had significance in how it is solved? Or are we "pairing up?"
So many choices. Skip pattern. Cipher to use. Starting point. Navajo.

6. Hey folks!!! Hope one of you get that eagle soon!!! This chapter has been extremely difficult... I'm almost wondering if there is some crazy twist like chapter 2 and the 2 different versions of that chapter... after all the number 2 is be all and end all!

"Big news! The hunt is picking up steam and people are getting a lot closer. There are at least 4 people that have the first half of the answer correct. It will be a race now to see who is first to claim the \$30,000 chapter 4 prize in the worlds greatest treasure hunt."

I'm not so sure that the "worlds greatest treasure hunt" is "picking up steam".

The most important part of the facebook postings from the last couple of weeks:

More than one person has submitted the first ten numbers in the correct sequence.

We're dealing with two sets of ten numbers.

Again.

I find that exceedingly curious.

We have received a number of submissions over the summer holidays and we are very pleased to report that more than 2 people have submitted the correct first 10 numbers of the answer.
