New clue out. While it doesn't fit anything I have submitted, it does fit the very next sequence I had queued up to submit today. Perhaps.

These past few clues don't seem to make much sense to me, but I thought 5/5/2015 would have been a good day to announce a winner for this chapter.

    Good Luck, Lobster!
Hope you are feeling better about this chapter than me. I am getting very disgruntled. Every time you think you have solved it, and your solution seems to fit all the clues, another new wrinkle, that wasn't even hinted at before, is in the next clue. It is as if Ron is trying to drag this out. I am seriously thinking of dropping this hunt, like a lot of others. It would be a shame with the number of years I have been working on it. I am one of the originals.

Nope, I have no idea if I have any part of the solution right. We have been given no (unambiguous) keys, and no unique validators that let us know we are on the right track.

Why is there an extra letter L in the tap code on page 91? I believe there is also an extra tap code letter on page 101. Were these included in the errors/typos listings for the book?

I had forgotten about the extra letter L, I am not sure there is a extra letter on page 101, but the "But ... but" on page 101 might be a clue. I could not find the errors/typos listings.

Which book do you have? The male or female version? I do not see any extras on page 101 in my book.

If I had to guess which letter and where, it would be at the very end of the poem, but before the password section, and it would be the letter P for Poe, as he signed the poem.

Don't give up yet! You are the supporter of the obvious meanings of the clues, and that in itself has helped me to try and keep things simple. It's probably easier than we think...

Does anyone care to discuss "which" clues might be for the start of alpha? I'm leaning towards:
-In your quest for the best you will have to do less to start.
-If east is least and west is best keep this in mind when tracking the sun as it sets on the prize.
    or
-The senior brother is 10 years older than the junior
    or
-If you are looking for help in solving this one the “Filthy 13” may be able to help you.
    or
The start of the solution for this chapter is easier than you can imagine.

I'm having trouble deciding which clue is for that start. Of course, as more clues are released, things get more confusing with more numbers in play.

The perfect square will help you on your way. It could refer to question 9 and the use of the caesar cipher or it could mean that letter I is either the first key or the first letter you subject to a cipher.
What you are looking for adds up to 15. We are looking for the location of the beginning of the sequence which should in some way total 15.
