Hi all, checking in and have noted the recent thoughts. I will apologize in advance for the twist I'm about to propose, but in the interest of creative thinking, here it is:

Assuming the Gr_ _ _ clue is about the best movie, I googled best / greatest movie, and it came up as Indiana Jones and the Raiders of the Lost Ark on several sites and forums. Not always, but often. As did the others in the Indiana series. If so, is this clue referring Indiana Jones (ie: I/J) and telling us that in fact no letter is missing from the playfair, and that I/J is being confirmed as "the" pair of letters to occupy one cell in the grid?

Fwiw, we thought it was MaybE and not MoviE, simply being a reference to the intention of this hunt, and that the important part was in the format of this clue, with the underscores and slashes.

Sorry if I've ruined anyone's evening...

Hi Glace, I always love to hear other peoples opinions, so you certainly didn't ruin my evening.

    So we start with: Gr_ _ _ _ _ _ /Trea_ _ _ _/_ _ _ T/M_ _ _ E/_ F/A_ _/T_ _ _/
The simplest explanation of this clue might be that we are dealing with an alpha and an omega sequence. The second explanation might be that we use both plain text and encrypted test. A third explanation might be that we use text (question text?) and the answer text to come up with the keys.

I had always thought that J=0 to decode Ch.6 q.5 was a very clever clue to combine I/J. Then when I realized that The Pirates of the Caribbean questions spelled out NO Q, I thought that might even be more clever clue. Now I realize that one of those clues probably wasn't so clever, unless we use both.

M_ _ _ E could be MoviE, MaybE, or MoxiE, any more? I am not sure it matters.

    Have fun on your vacation.

For this clue it seemed a bit vague at first. Many places have a different answer. You'd have to resolve what "Greatest" actually means? For this, I simply went with total Box office revenue? Anyone have a different idea?

Someone needs to reach out to Ron Shore and see when and if this hunt is going to continue.

I've still been working on it. Have found some clues within the clues that seem to explain a lot of the other clues that seemed to be obscure, confusing or unhelpful. Also points to where and how to get the text. I'll know better next week when they send out the submission results.

Can someone please explain the clue:
When you get to the center go back to 1’s.
Two ones is 11 or letter K or question number 11.
But go back? As in it was a starting spot or you have to move backwards to the 1’s?

Looks like he shut it down already, Ron is no longer letting us know if the submissions are correct within two weeks. He did tell me that there would be no insurance money for his loss of the golden eagle. Then again maybe Bookworm won it already.

That would be nice and thanks for the confidence, but there has been no word either way. It is the long wait after submission that gets to me. With the submissions being reviewed once a week, it could be up to nearly two weeks before you know if you're on the right path. Kind of kills any momentum.

I see that the last submission checked was 1/28 so it sure seems to me that the results from 1/29 are overdue. The long wait time is only one of several frustrations with this quest.
But enough negativity, I feel like Chapter 6 must have some twist or some oddball thing going on. I had told Ron on his phone call to me that if we are using a playfair to solve this, that can get very complicated. For example which letter do we drop, J Q Z or other, and do we combine them with another letter or let them be lost? What do we do with numbers in a playfair? For example if 1622 is used, is that skipped over or encoded? What do we do with double letters, automatically put an X between them or only if they line up as a pair. Then what keyword if any is used. Is a spin used, and what is the direction of the spin?
    HELP I need a clue.
