Jen-

I think that you could probably solve the hunt with just the hi-res scans and the verses. But owning the book makes it a whole lot easier to explain to people.

The book is about the size of a normal paperback. Without figuring where I stashed my copy most recently, I'd guess it's around 200 pages long, although very little of the rest of it has to do with the hunt.

If you keep an eye on eBay for it, you can pick it up rather cheap. I got mine for around $5 there. Everywhere else seems to be fairly expensive.

Cheers-
moscow

Forgive my curiosity, but after reading every post in this forum I still don't see what this hunt is about. Are there things to find? Are you just trying to find locations? Perhaps a hunt synopsis would be benificial for anyone trying to decide to participate. I've searched around and all I see on the web in general is that this is unsolved/abandoned and that two of twelve puzzles were solved, but nothing really said what you find when you solve a puzzle.

Thanks in advance.

First line in this thread

So the casques are buried around the US and Canada, if you manage to dig one up there is a key in the casque that can be traded for an estimated 1000$ jewel. By pairing one picture with the correct verse it will lead you to the exact location of the buried casque.

On a side note the person who the primary hunters were in contact has passed away. I have not heard if the publishing company is still redeeming the jewels. Any veterans of this hunt want to clarify whats going on with that?

Sorry, not sure how I missed that. Ordered the book but it may be sort of a moot point now, from what I hear.

Not necessarily. It is true that the primary mind behind the hunt passed away suddenly last year, and it his publishing company is filing for bankruptcy, but the jewels and the solutions likely belong to his family. It is unclear whether or not the hunt is "officially" still on, but it is such a well-crafted treasure hunt that I, for one, have no intention of slowing down.
