    Default Wiki

    forest_blight,

I hear (and agree) with your concerns about the wiki.

Is there a way to tell when (and where, and by whom) the wiki is updated?
Yes, there is a way to check the edit history, and even roll-back changes in the wiki. This doesn't make it vandall-proof.

There is also a 10 meg limit on images in the wiki.

    Check my attempt at: http://thesecret.pbwiki.com/

And in a previous post, I tried to include an explanation of wiki. It is available at:
    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/wiki

I'm not sold on the wiki either, I just know that I can't find certain information in the forums when I want it. The wiki may only be better in the beginning while it is small, once it grows, it may be just as confusing as I found the Q4T forums.

My goal - solve the Secret!

not my goal - create a wiki for it's own sake.

    Thanks,
    AnotherDoth

Okay. I grudgingly admit that the wiki surpasses nifty and goes straight to cool.

The Wiki (http://thesecret.pbwiki.com) is a neat tool. Hopefully, this new tool will intertwine with great Tweleve forums and help us solve this puzzle!

forest_blight, now that you have edited the FrontPage, you might try uploading pictures next. Ease of uploading pictures is what made pbwiki my choice for this project.

Also, feel free to simply edit over my text, instead of commenting after my text. It's a wiki - I won't be offended. Discussion should still happen here in the forum, the wiki should be edited down to the things we all can agree upon!

    Thanks,
    AnotherDoth

    Default Book Theory

Based on only two data points, I have a (admittedly weak) theory that the verses use book names (searchable in any library in 1980) to help link the verses and images.
    • Man and Beast - name of visual history book written by Jacques Boudet in 1964 is line 1 of verse 12 "Where M and B are set in stone" : Amazon
Wingless Bird - name of the novel written by Catherine Cookson in 1964 is line 8 of Verse 5 "a wingless bird ascended": Wiki link
Probably just a coincidence, but worth mentioning to the brain trust here at Tweleve! Please forgive me if you already noticed this in the verse threads.

Not sure where to post this but I figured this may be a good place since this threads lists many possible city/locations.

Missing from these lists is a city that had been discussed (& verified) in the past.

    St. Louis, MO ------ 38 N 90 W

the following is an email received from egbert (finder of Cleveland casque) to me regarding an email sent to BP from fellow hunter Johann. Egbert could not locate the actual email but guaranteed this was the exact response to Johann from BP

    "(From BPreiss)
Very impressive work esp since the book is 20 years old. I think you deserve to know that you are correct about st. Louid, but not correct about the location.thanks for all your excellent work."

    Default Does anyone know...

Where to get an actual copy of the book? I like looking at the scans, but I'd love the book itself.
    Thanks,
    A.

There is at least a copy for sale in the stores at ebay. If you search in books using the key words:

    "the secret" treasure hunt

    you should find it easily.

just keep searching amy. I remember others saying the same thing. I couldnt believe that some folks were trying to sell their copy of The Secret for like $60. You will find a cheap one out there...just keep searching.
