http://contentdm.mohistory.org/cdm4/...ISOBOX=1&REC=2 Is there another flower somewhere else on the stone? Maybe on the other side? |

It doesnt match up, at least not in my observation. Is this for sure the one he was talking about? It matches up better with the description he gave then it does with this particular monument's markings....from what we can see in that (great pic Sue) website.
My intention was not to discredit, certainly I want there to be some excitement about this and a FIND on one of these remaining 10. This really got me fired up for some Secret fun. I live so darned close to two of the purposed locations (Charleston and Manteo) that I almost want to devise a solution based on each poem and head back to those sites....I have been to locations near both looking, but no digging. I seem to fall short on the clues devised, whether they be my opinon or "solves/ theories" of others, once on location. All the Best ALT and Alt. ALT. You got us talking and thinking on this again, that's cool. Anything over on Q4T on this? Hunting with a smile! Domino

1986 only refers to the year the photograph was taken. The monument was originally dedicated in 1956 and renovated in 1989.
I agree with Shecrab and Domino, though, it doesn't seem to fit. ALT, what about the legeater? Have you seen the exact match to the photo of the lamppost in Montreal? Do you know of another one in St. Louis? |

I agree with Shecrab and Domino, though, it doesn't seem to fit. i just figuered that out thanks for catching my mistake while trying to find more, on that area of park, i found i was wrong on the date, that 1986 date is the photo date, monument is 1956...link http://www.historyhappenedhere.org/details.php?id=59 while checking monument, i was looking for the 222, cant find what he is talking about |

The statue was placed in the 50's
the picture was taken in 1986 and shows the original layout of the statue in 1989 the entire statue was removed, a large raised dias was placed on the corner and the statue was placed on top of it, so basically if it was within 12 paces of the statue in the 80s, now the area does not exist. or it does so under about 6 feet of stone and cement. So far this picture has been linked to Montreal with the legeater, Its kind of a stretch to try and force it to fit without being able to explain that away. But that doesnt mean this isnt the right verse for this area. Keep at it! |

like many of you i've been playing around with this hunt for awhile. i've been spending so much time with this hunt that i thought it would be fun to involve my hubby. as soon as he read Fox posts that there is one in st. louis he got really excited. and hes been stuck on this idea that its here. i told him to post it and let the gang see how it holds up to them. sometimes its better to hear it from someone other then a hubby or wife that your ideas are wrong! we are going down there to take pictures & go step by step on Sat. if all goes as planned. just for fun. i'll post the pictures so you can see what we see. the inside of the flower (the circles) match the "skull" flower on the stone. that dang legeater Carol & i went on a hunt for that down town about 2 or 3 years ago. had lots of fun, had to carry the little kids back to the van from all the walking. legeater reminds me of Purina since its half horse/mule half dog & with the checkers. Frank Blair could also be the "Citadel in the night" he seized the U.S. Arsenal at St. Louis. his statue is just north of the white stone. you can also map alot of the river with the outlines on this picture but i bet its easy to match outlines with any river that twists and turns. these are just theories or ideas guys. i never claimed to have a solve, hope this post didnt upset anyone. hoping that it sparks others to join in and share spots to dig. You guys play the part of my devils advocate. (did i use that right)
