Post I Have the Key and Need a Partner

For everyone still interested in this hunt:

Many of you may have noticed I posted a thread recently looking for a partner. Some might have thought it an odd post but I designed it to prove to those already making solves that I have the key and it was the only way I could think of to find a partner with as much knowledge as myself without compromising eligibility rules. 120 views and over one month later and I've not gotten one response. All I can gather is that those like me who are solving DAR are still keeping it close to their chests, don't wish to partner up or - can it be....I'm the only one??????

It is true that I have the key and have solved a good deal of the puzzles. The catch is - I'm stuck. I think I’ve hit that part in the hunt where “special knowledge is required” and I’ve been sitting on my hands for months now at what I believe to be the final push towards a prize. It’s very frustrating to be so close with time running out. There are a lot of great thinkers here and I am hoping someone with strong, QUICK cipher solving skills, in classical ciphers, math, logic, numbers, algorithms and possibly maps would like to partner up with me. I am a lateral and artistic thinker looking for a linear counterpart with hands-down much more cipher experience who doesn’t struggle with manipulating numbers and number patterns as much as I do.

I regret that I cannot answer questions at this time regarding solutions but I will be happy to share what I know when the deadline for the hunt has passed. For now, I am still working on the premise that this hunt is not over, there may still be prizes and I do not wish to do anything that would confuse eligibility for myself or anyone I am collaborating with. For this reason, please be advised that anyone wishing to partner up with me will be asked to sign a contractual agreement. The end is drawing near but there is still time left to solve this thing. And if there is no prize I still want to crack this final phase just for the sense of completion. Please PM me if you are interested and tell me about your abilities and experiences.

    TIA Fellow Trovers!

Thank you for your response and I apologize. I didn't realize I needed 10 posts before I am able to PM you back. Please be patient with me while I go add to my post counts.

Excuse me, Ferrymaiden, (and welcome to Tweleve, BTW,) But what "key" do you have? Perhaps I have misunderstood what you mean by "key"--but I do not believe there are any ciphers which would require a cipher key in this book anywhere. Can you at least explain what you mean by that?

I can tell you this much: I spent over a year and a half on this studying things I believe are vital to the solution: they include astronomy, celestial navigation (especially as practiced by Polynesians) and solar time-keeping. Anything else besides the Base-5 stuff is incidental to the solution. Now this is my opinion only, and was not shared by many people--especially those who believed that the ridiculous sun-moon code in the Book of Spells was anything like a cipher that could be decoded. I found clear, VISUAL clues that supported my ideas, as well as a chain of clues that went everywhere there was a city's latitude and longitude listed. Beyond that, I do not believe any ciphers exist.

I'm not asking you to share your solutions. I'm only asking you to clarify your meanings when you say you "have the key." Thanks. Also, you can make short posts to get your "post requirements" up if you like. I don't mind reading several in a row.

Like many of the members here, I am learning about the world of cryptography as I go and having a fantastic time of it. But, I'll be the first to admit that I am far from being an expert and I have a deep respect for the veterans and the great minds here who can grasp such things easily, for I cannot. Thus, my search for a more experienced partner at this stage in the journey.

When I say I have the "key" I mean to say that I have discovered some information necessary for solving some of the puzzles in the book. I do not presume it is the only key because I do not know how many types of puzzles there are. I am certain about what I have, however. Thanks for asking, HTH.

Ahhhh.....I see. Okay, then. I'm probably not the person you need to talk to about this, then. But you never know....right?

My opinion is that the puzzle book is deeply flawed. There is supposed to be something there, but there is only a faint ghost of what it is. I honestly don't care if I tell anyone anything anymore on this one--because I do not believe there will be any prizes awarded and I do not believe this hunt is still on. So if you want to ask me anything at all, feel free--I'll let you have any and all info of mine you may want.

    Fire away.

Thanks for the kind offer, Shecrab. I have not found a partner, yet, and hope that word will get around. I understand a part of it may be that I'm new. I did work on The Secret for a time and took a trip out to Roanoke, then reported on what I observed at the Quest4Treasure site but I expect folks here would not know me from that.

It saddens me that so many are feeling disappointed by this hunt and I am excited about the prospect of possibly breathing new life into it in some small way. Even if it is just for honorable mentions at this point, I'd love an opportunity to meet Michael Stadther in person and shake his hand for creating such an elegant hunt. In spite of the legal issues, I sincerely admire what he has created and wish I could tell him that.

Awesome, this makes 10 posts and now I can write everyone back!

Obviously haven't mastered the quote thing. Still a rookie but getting the hang of it.
